Warning//: I'm telling y'all right now I gave no fucks about this chapter.. and if you've read the next chapter you'd see where my efforts went.At the stroke of ten thirty am, Zayn and I walked down the hall into his office to prepare for our eleven thirty meeting. I collected the various legal papers we needed and made coffee while Zayn stocked his mini fridge with water and various sodas. At exactly 10:57 am, Cleopatra and James arrived and helped us prepare for the others. Soon Preston and his Beta Giovanni came. Twenty minutes later at 11:47 am Zander, Katherine, and Jaxon arrive. Apparently Zander and Katherine had gotten the into some argument at a gas station and it made them late. None of the three went into any further details and I didn't really care. To be perfectly honest, I was rather annoyed by their tardiness, but I remembered my mother would tell me to smile through it so I did. However and of course, Athena was only peeved that she was not allowed any "juicy detail" of the altercation.
After a short greeting we get down to business. The Alphas, Lunas, and Betas sit in chairs around Zayn's desk. Our betas sit in the back on Zayn's leather couch which is pressed against the far wall.
"Well the first thing we need to do is get the innocent and captives out, and every time I bring this up there is some disagreement. We really just need to come together and get them out because every day they are alone with a monster." Zayn says.
"We have to do something with the under ground tunnel. Get a few people out at a time," Preston starts,"But then Joshua will realize his pack members are disappearing...."
"Replace them with warrior wolves." I suggest.
"What?" They all turn to me confused.
"When the captives are extracted from the pack they trade clothes with the warrior wolves and give a little of their blood for the scent. Joshua is an imbecile. I doubt he would notice a thing." I say while meeting the eye of everyone in the room.
"What about the children? Wouldn't he notice that there were no children?" Preston asks.
"Joshua pays no attention to the children unless they're his own then he wants them dead," Katherine let out a gasp, "He barely notices the other children, but that is true he will likely notice if there were not any children at all. Hmm.. I don't exactly how to fix that because we cannot just send in innocent children."
"Yes, we could." We all turned to face Jaxon, "If they were trained enough. Arm them with silver daggers, laced with liquid wolfsbane."
'Is he really thinking about throwing more innocent children into the actual Devil's lair?' Athena asks.
"Jax! We can't just send kids in there!" Zander scolds his Beta.
"We have to it's the only way, Zander!" I am stunned at his sudden tone. He most definitely lost someone due Joshua's cool-hearted, cruel ways. Jaxon looked over Katherine, who sat in between the Beta and Alpha, to glare at Zander. Zander gaze slowly softened and Katherine grabbed her Beta's hand in held it in both of hers.
"There has to be some way.." Zayn trails off.
"Once I heard of pack of rouge children whom have been abandoned by their pack." Preston pips up.
"Hmm would these kids happen to have number I could call?" Zayn inquires.
"I don't know. I think I have their Alphas number in my office. I could call Trent to look for it."
"Please."
"Sure, man." Preston rises from his sit, and begins to walk out.
"Even if Trent finds the number, they are children! Are we really going to send babies into the pits of hell?!" Katherine notable becomes deeply upset. Her olive toned skin is now a flaming scarlet. Although she was clearly human her hazel eyes were a dark, gray. The color reminds me of the clouds during a storm.
