Tiffany's Point Of View

The anger in me bubbled up until it boiled right of my body. I grit my teeth, held back a growl, and with one last burst of energy I demanded Athena to give me control of my body.

I rise into my body like breaking the surface of a pool of water after being submerged for so long. My throat burns, but I ignore it and rise to my knee. I hate being on my knees before such a lowly creature, but with wolfsbane in my system I could not trust my feet.

"He won't believe you." The coolness of moss patches living on the tree's bark seeps into my skin. My alpha blood defends my warm body temperature. New York, even in late October, can be as brutally cold as late January. A mere human would likely freeze out here.

I remember my jacket on the back at the training center. I only wear a black tshirt, jeans which are ripped and reveal my flesh, and Timberland boots. Oh goddess I hated Athena's taste in clothes.

"Zayn's too smart to be fooled." Athena and I hold our heads high as we defend our mate.

His eyes glow with a cynical grey hue. His fangs grow over his lips as he smiles. "Are you sure, my Luna? After all, you did just tell him you were going to the restroom."

Athena gnashes her teeth together as I lied through mine. "He knows I suspected you as the leak. If you go back with my body he will know you killed me."

A sick joy swirls around his greedy grey eyes at my response. "Well whatever the case may be.. not of it matters you'll all be dead soon." The wolfsbane completely takes over me. Even in the dungeons of Joshua's pack home I was never injected with this much in one sitting. I reach for Athena or Zayn, I can't; though I can feel Athena reach for me as well.

"Why," I must keep him talking. Zayn will notice my lengthy absence soon enough. "Why did you abandoned your pack?"

A gurgling chuckle clawed up his throat and out. "Stalling your demise, are we? It's quite unfortunate that you can't call the Alpha isn't?"

I bite my cheek and clinch my fist to refrain from doing something irrational.

"You may be a kappa from Golden Moon, but Midnight Sun is your pack. You legally transferred here and used your blood to bond to the pack."

"Like hell it is!" He yells against my ear then pouts, "You didn't flinch."

Rolling my eyes I respond with a sigh, "I am not afraid of you."

"Oh of course your not. I forgot you're some self-proclaimed warrior now because you've been through a few things." He lends in closer: whispering in my ear, "You've been through nothing. Lord Nathan saved you. That pitiful pack was never going to survive with a female Alpha. You're so fucking selfish. You would have drove that pack to hell. The Capers saved you, you stupid bitch. Women like you should be wiped from the earth."

I had to do a double take to make sure those words truly came out of his mouth. Then I chuckled, thinking of my predicament I and stop to cautiously observe the pitiful fool before me. "Women like me? You mean women who have been to hell and back and still refuse to submit? Women who refuse to be someone's pretty and silent arm ornament? As for the Capers saving me I think you're either blind or absolutely delusional."
