Nathan's POV

I woke up this morning super hungry. I'd went to bed on an empty stomach, and I knew that I would pay for it in the morning. I ran into the kitchen and grabbed a bloodbag. I was starving, and I couldn't take it. I drank it, and grabbed another one. I drank that one quickly as well. I moaned, because it tasted too good for words. I checked the refrigerator, and I was running low. That wasn't good. I'd have to go get some more. I then remembered, I was supposed to go over Alison's today. I checked the time. It was 9:00 in the morning. I could go back to bed if I wanted to, but I'm wide awake now. I just went back to my room and watched TV.

Alison's POV

I woke up this morning on an empty stomach. I needed breakfast. I went downstairs to the kitchen. Vania was already up. "Hey." I said. "Hey." she muttered back. She had a cup of orange juice in her hand and was drinking that. I went to look to see what was in the refrigerator, and there was nothing. Vania was on her way back up the stairs when I turned around. I stopped her before she made it all the way up. She stepped back down. "I'm sorry." I said. "I'm sorry to. I didn't mean to raise my voice at you. But I'm sticking with my opinion. I think Nathan is a Vampire. You're not changing that." she said. "I know. I know." I said quickly. "But I just didn't want...tension between us."

"Yeah, I get it. And if Nathan is still coming over, I'll try to not do anything. No promises though." she said.

I just nodded and she went back upstairs. I'll be honest, I was still kind of mad at her for thinking Nathan was a Vampire and that his kind killed my parents, and all those other victims. That can't be true. It was stupid, what Vania thought about Nathan. I understand people are entitled to their opinions, but Vampires are complete myths. Not real. But she thinks whatever she thinks, and i'll have to deal with it. I was starting to question whether I should still let Nathan come over. I guess I never really took the time to think about the possibility...could Nathan actually be a Vampire?

It doesn't matter, because I don't, won't, and wouldn't believe it. I'll call him later. It's too early for him to come now.

Nathan's POV

It's now 3 in the afternoon. I figure I should call Alison now. "Hey Nathan." she answered. "Hey, what's up?" I asked. "Not much. Still want to come over?" she asked. "Yeah, I do. What time would be good for you?" I asked. "Anytime is fine." she said. Her voice sounded sad. Something is wrong. "What's wrong? You sound sad." I lightened my voice up a bit. "It's nothing...I'm sleepy. I just woke up." she said. "It's 3 in the afternoon." I said in a dull tone. "I sleep late. But i'm fine Nathan. Nothing to worry about." she perked up. "If you're sure." I said. "I am. So just come over whenever you'd like, i'll be here." she said. "Okay, great, Bye."

"Bye."

We hung up. There's something she's not telling me. I don't know if it's right for me to intervene or not though. I don't really think I should.   I got up to go take a shower.   When I got my clothes on, I left for Alison's house.

When I got there, I knocked on the door. The door opened, and Vania stood at the foot of it. I'll admit, I was expecting Alison to be at the door, so I was surprised to see Vania. "Hey, i'm here to see Alison." I gave a small smile. "I know. She's in the bathroom. She'll be out in a minute." She gave a smug look. Almost like she didn't want me to be here. I stepped in the house and sat down on the couch. Vania went back upstairs. Alison came down a few minutes later. "Hey!! I see Vania let you in." she said.  "Yeah, she did." I nodded. She seemed like there was nothing wrong with her, unlike on the phone, where she sounded sad. This was kind of awkward. Just sitting in silence. I could hear her heart beating. It was beating quite fast. She seemed nervous about something. I studied her features, she looked worried. "Okay, spill it. Something is up with you. And I want to know what it is." I said. I couldn't take it anymore, I had to know. She looked around. "Nathan. Nothing is wrong." she said slowly. "You're not fooling anyone. You look nervous, sounded nervous on the phone, what is going on?" I asked.

"Vania's got this crazy idea that you're a Vampire. Okay? There, I said it."

I literally felt my heart speed up at that. Now I was the one being nervous. "Me? A Vampire? That's crazy!" I gave a nervous laugh. "That's what I told her. But she still thinks you are. And she said she'd prove it. And I don't know what I'd do if you actually were. Not that I believe in that stuff." she went on. "She also thinks, that Vampires killed my parents." she sniffled at that. "Why would Vampires - of all things - do that?" I asked. She shrugged, and wiped her eyes. I looked around, trying to process what she just said. Vania is on to me. And I can't let her find me out completely. I'd be in deep shit if she did. Vania came down the stairs just then. She eyed me suspiciously, and I returned the favor. "Hey Ali, you're cell phone is ringing up there." she told Alison. She got up and went upstairs. As soon as she made it up, Vania looked at me. I forced a smile onto my face. She sat down beside me. I scooted over a bit, she surprisingly intimidated me.

"I know your secret, Nathan. I know what you are. And I intend to reveal you. Your kind killed my best friends' parents. And after I reveal your kind...well, let's just say I hope you like stake."

I wanted to kill her so badly right here. I willed myself to be calm. "I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged. I tried to sound calm, but I probably sounded like I was ready to rip her head off.

"Don't play games, little Nath. I'm on to you. And if you kill Ali, bite her, if you so much as go near her neck, you'll be having stake for dinner." She was in my face now.

"Except...you don't have any proof." I got in her face.

"I don't need it. Because you'll reveal yourself. It's inevitable." she had a devious look on her face.

My god, this sounds like something Adam would say. She had the smirk, eyes, and everything. She might as well have been him sitting in front of me right now.

"Nice try Vania. But i'm not a Vampire, and you're crazy if you think they're real." I said.

Alison then came down the stairs. "My phone wasn't ringing." she said. Vania got up.

"Oh, I thought I heard it." she shrugged.

Alison gave her a weird look and Vania went back upstairs. Halfway up, she turned around once more. She  looked at me and mouthed the words: "Dead man walking." and continued on up. I tried to not feel intimidated by this, but she's the closest to ever figuring me out. I've got to watch what I say and do in front of her. I turned my attention back to Alison. "So, what did she tell you?" she asked. I gave a look. "Um, nothing important." I lied. She nodded. I was suddenly ready to leave. I felt myself getting claustrophobic for some reason. I pretended to check my phone, "I um, I have to go." I said and stood up and walked to the door. I was almost to the door when Alison stopped me. "Something happen?" she asked. "You could say that." I murmured. I frowned. I turned around and almost said something. I shook my head, and turned back around. "I'll see you later. And don't go thinking you did anything wrong, because you didn't. Don't worry yourself." I smiled and left for home. I felt pretty bad about leaving her like that. I ran home.

Alison's POV

I suddenly got very mad. Vania did this. She said something to Nathan. It had to be her. I stormed up the stairs. I went into her room. I wasn't going to get pissed so quickly, maybe she had a good explanation. "Is Nathan gone?" she asked. "Yeah. Said that something came up." I said. She shrugged. "Did you say something to Nathan to make him leave?" I asked. She gave me a look. "What? No, I didn't say anything to him." she smirked. "Don't lie to me Vania." I got serious. "Look, I did say something. But hear me out. I-"

"Why would you do that?!"

"I said I would try to not do or say anything. But I also said I wasn't promising anything!" She did say that.

"What did you say and why?"

She sighed, "I told him I was, going to reveal his kind. And he'd...die if he turned you." she turned away. "You. Did. What?!" I had to make sure I heard correctly. "Look! What I'm doing, I'm doing it to protect you!! You could get hurt! Or killed! And I'm the last person who wants to see that! I'm protecting you from him! He is a Vampire! And he will kill you if you let your guard down!! I know these things!" She's raising her voice even louder.

"And how exactly do you know these things?!" I asked, my tone hinting sarcasm. This should be good.

"Because I'm a Vampire slayer."
