Alison's POV

"My first kill?!" I was strangely excited.

"Yeah, your first kill. Now that you have your fangs, and your powers, you can kill now. I'm going to tell you now, the blood may seem or taste disgusting at first, but give it a couple of seconds, and your Vampire instincts will kick in." Nathan said as we walked out of the woods. "How does blood taste?" I asked. I knew that was a weird question, but I had to know, since this would be my food from now on.

"How it tastes. Well, it's quite thick, so you'd only need a few humans at a time. Don't drink too much blood. Once you're full, you're full. Don't try to stuff yourself with more than you can handle." He explained.

I nodded in understatement. As we made our way out of the woods, a bunch of questions swirled in my head. I didn't know which to ask first, if I should even ask them. I had questions about Adam, the apparent "High Council", my destiny, and a shit load more than that!

"So, for my first kill, I'm just gonna go up to a human and bite them?" I said rather bluntly.

"No. It's not even the appropriate time to go out and kill yet. We usually go out when it's least expecting for anyone to see us or pay attention to us for that matter. And you have to kill the right way. If you just go up to a human and just randomly bite them, all hell will break loose. Everyone in this entire town is suspicious of Vampires being existent. If you so much as walk down the street with pale skin, you will get a shit load of questions thrown at you." He explained. I guess it's not just Vania. I thought.

"I already can't walk down the street without people looking at me weird. The last thing I need is them thinking i'm a Vampire." I muttered.

"Why?"

"Remember how I said my parents died, and it wasn't anything human that killed them? That's what sparked the Vampire beliefs. The other killings of people that you hear of are all extremely similar to what killed my mum and dad. All of that sparked the Vampire beliefs."

"But you didn't answer my question. Why can't you go down the street without people giving you looks?"

"As soon as everyone heard about it, they instantly knew who I was. And they never forgot it." I explained even more.

"Well, nobody has ever really seen Vampires here." He said slowly.

"And they're not starting today." I walked ahead of him. I may have been a Vampire for only a day, - correction, less than a day, - but I know enough to know to be careful around humans.

Nathan caught up. "Sorry for making you upset." He whispered. "It's okay. I'm just thinking about things." I said. I quickly added, "That doesn't mean to read my mind either!" I laughed.

"No promises." He taunted. I walked into the house, to find Vania eating a brownie. "These are good." She said when she saw us. "Nathan made them." I said. "I gotta give it to you Nathan. I may hate you, but you make a good brownie." Vania shrugged. "Thanks?" He said unevenly. I could tell he was confused by her suddenly talking to him instead of her usual death glare towards him. I must admit, I was a bit shocked myself. I mean, she Hates. His. Guts. I wonder what's up with her. "I'm quite surprised. You're talking to me now?" Nathan asked. I guess he couldn't resist asking.

"Well, since you're Ali's boyfriend, you may be around for a while. And since you clearly care for each other so much, I guess I can put aside differences for you. As much I hate your guts, I will try my best to not kill you. But, I'm not promising anything." She said.

He's gonna be around a lot longer than you think. I thought to myself. "Well, I guess I can do the same." He shrugged. This was relieving. I finally don't have those two at each other's throats constant. I never said anything, but I knew that they had a bone to pick with one another. At least now I know what made them like that, and I can go to sleep and wake up knowing that Nath isn't killed.
