Jade's side

Shadow followed Jade through winding corridors to a large living room. The room had a large table and 3 pictures on the wall. Each of the pictures depicted familiar faces. The one to the left was reedfury and jade pointing swords at each other. The next one was a close up of Reedfury and Ash arm wrestling. The final one was of Ash giving Jade a piggy back ride. She turned to Jade with a questionable gaze. Jade sighed and looked at the pictures. " the first one was taken last year, our mom always was quite the photographer and loved taking our pictures. We were sword fighting by a lake. I loved to sword fight. Then the second picture I took when the boys were trying to win a argument over some invading outclaws. Then the last picture was taken the day before your return to black crescent. We were happy then" she finished and shadow was astonished to see tears in her eyes " but what changed?" Shadow asked softly. Jade looked at shadow " I don't know I mean Reedfury grew harsher , Ash was so worried about his mate , you, and I just stayed away." She dipped her head and tears ran down her face." I am most afraid of Reedfury he has been so hostile toward me " she gazed off to the window. "I really want to help but please release my sister" shadow said taking a step towards Jade. " oh I'm sorry I am just so accustomed to forcing people into submission..." Jade trailed off and led shadow down um et another corridor when they were suddenly stopped by a frantic guard. " my queen we need to assemble the vampires are attacking" at that moment shadows heart dropped
