I couldn't sleep. The pain interrupted my sleep. I had recurring nightmares of the day it all happened and I feared if I did leave the hospital it would happen again. I gasped, breathless, I felt like I couldn't breathe. I rang the buzzer to call a nurse into the room.
A ninety year old looking woman came scurrying over, "What is the matter child?" She asked impatiently. "Please may I have some water?" I questioned politely. She nodded and hurried of towards the kitchen. I sighed, I felt lonely, the awful cries and screaming occasionally haunting the corridors. Alone in my room I reached for my book, Wild at Heart.
After what felt like forever she returned with a small glass of water. I gratefully took it off her and took a sip. I thanked her and she scurried off to her next patient. I continued reading my book in the dimly lit room as time crept slowly into the early hours of the morning. I was happy to see slithers of sunlight push past the dreary curtains. I put my book back onto the cabinet and climbed off the bed I was confined to. I reached into my trench coat pocket and grabbed my cigarettes.
I carefully trudged down the corridor to the main entrance to have a cigarette when mum came and greeted me. "Abbey! What did I tell you about smoking??!" she squealed at me. I laughed and hugged her gently. "I know, I know but I'm okay," I replied. She smiled at me taking in my new appearance, bandages and all. I walked back through the corridors to my room with my mum and offered her a seat near the window. I noticed there were some beautiful roses that had been placed on the windowsill. Attached to them it had a letter, it read:
Dear Abbey, We will be visiting soon, our tour is coming to an end and we can't wait to see you, these roses are for you and we hope you love them. Love BVB x
I smiled in contentment. How thoughtful they are, the flowers were awesome, I could not stop smiling. I chatted for mum for what seemed like hours and she brought me new clothes to wear.
Mum soon left and I was alone once again. I really wanted the guys to come back, I craved their company. Hopefully I will see them again soon, they are what keeps me going...
