Tom

I woke up to realize it was Tom's birthday. I crept quietly downstairs with Andrew and grabbed the card and presents we had been hiding from him. It was his 7th birthday, his second birthday with us. I woke Tom and presented the gifts we had for him. "Happy birthday!" We shouted. He screeched with excitement," Thank you so much!" It felt overwhelming to be here for him. 

What he didn't know was we felt it was time for him to have his first road trip to download with us. We thought this would be good for him to travel and meet new people. Yes he was only 7 but he loved this type of music, especially his dad's so I thought it would be nice for him to listen to other music and meet our friends from other bands to get the experience of the atmosphere. 

I packed our things and put them in my car, Andy's things hogged most of the boot but I made sure the birthday cake was well hidden from Andy in case he ate it on the way. He did love chocolate cake although who doesn't! We stopped off for pancakes and coffee, Tom loved pancakes he said they taste like heaven. I smiled at that thought. We sat and discussed what bands we would listen to and who he would be most excited to meet, like his mam his favorite band was Asking Alexandria (After BVB of course) We finished breakfast and climbed back in the car while Andy rang the guys and arranged to meet them at the tour bus when we got there.

I was so excited I had made good friends with many of the lead singers of the bands and the band members such as Danny Worsnop and Kellin Quinn. It had been ages since we had been at an event like this and the sun was on our side, 32 degrees. I plastered sun screen on Tom much to his disapproval to stop him from burning and I ensured we had plenty of bottles of water. Andy lead the way to the tour bus and introduced Tom.

"Hey guy's this is our son Tom," Andy smiled as he greeted the guys. They were all so friendly, Tom had already met Jake but the others were just voices from dad's CD's. "Hi kid," Jinxx said as he shook his hand. Tom giggled, "Hello." They all introduced themselves and they all seemed to love Tom.

I climbed into the tour bus and greeted the girls, it had been ages since we had talked, we had a lot of catching up to do. We spent the first few hours before the acts started catching up while the others were showing Tom around, he seemed to love the atmosphere, it was as if he belonged here, yes I know Andy isn't his real dad but the resemblance was huge. 

I grabbed Tom an ice cream and we stood among the crowd waiting for one of our favorites, Asking Alexandria, we would often sing it in the car when we went out. I waved at Danny and he winked back. Oh god I thought to myself, still a flirt. "Next up Black Veil Brides!" The presenter shouted and on they came and an uproar of screaming and cheering erupted from the crowd.

 I lifted Tom onto my shoulders so he could see,"I can see Daddy," He giggled cheerfully. "I'm here today with two special people, my fiance and my son.... Happy birthday Tom this one is for you!" Andy shouted and again the crowd began cheering. I smiled Tom looked so happy.

We waited until all of the bands were over and Andy came over to us. "Thank you mam and dad I've had the best birthday ever!" Tom grinned. I loved seeing him happy. It made me feel amazing that he called me mam, each and every time he said it butterflies erupted in my stomach.

Andy came over to me with something in his hand, he knelt down on one knee, "Abbey....Will you marry me?" My heart stopped I had been waiting so long for this moment. "Of course I will," I laughed while trying not to cry tears of joy. He placed the ring on my finger and I launched myself into his arms. We kissed completely forgetting where we were. I jumped down embarrassed seeing that all the fans and bands were staring at us, then all of a sudden people started clapping and cheering. 

We packed our things and climbed back into the car, I was still admiring the beautiful ring Andy had bought me. I drove us home and we sat down in the sitting room, I felt something in my stomach..... I ran to the toilet and a wave of nausea spread over me.... what could it be?

Andy came in behind me phone in hand, "Do you want me to ring an ambulance?" he asked panic evident in his voice. "No I'm fine," I winced holding my hair back. "What is it?" He asked gently gathering my hair and putting it into a pony tail. I looked up at him, "I don't know." 

I made an appointment at the hospital fearing something was wrong with my old wounds, maybe internal bleeding. Andy drove me as I pulled my knees up to my chin, I felt ill. We arrived at the doctors and Tom was sitting quietly on his chair, "What's wrong?" Andy asked him holding his knee. "I don't want anything to happen to mammy," He said sweetly. Andy chuckled, "I'm sure she will be fine."
