A few days passed going the same way as they had done since I had first talked to Tyler. Class was the same with Mr. Jefferson. Tori stopped walking me back to my dorm the way we usually did, probably because she didn't want to be faced with the popular kids. She made her way around with Kara instead. Tyler and his friends hung under the tree after my classes every day too, expect for when it was sunny, I never saw them when the weather was hot. Adam and Max were the same as usual, giving one another a quickie whenever they could. Pretty sure than Anthony and Steven were doing the same, but their usual excuse of 'we're just friends' was constantly repeated. Nick was the only person in the dorm with a normal personality. He didn't go out to party and he did all of his assignments on time. He was like a homework outlet for Adam, since he didn't cover his own back.

On the Friday the new transferred kid finally came to class. He was tall, brown haired, muscular with a slight stubble. He also walked in late, like every stereotypical new kid. Mr. Jefferson immediately picked up on it and turned to face him within a second. "Excuse me." Was all Mr. Jefferson said, making the kid turn around.
"Sorry I'm late Sir." He replied, half way up the steps.
"And who might you be?"
"Brian." He finished before completing his journey up. He reached my row, moving past everyone to get to the spare seat beside me.
"You're late. See me at the end of class." Mr. Jefferson called before returning to his lecture. Brian took his backpack from his shoulder and moved it to the back of his chair. He then proceeded to make noise by clattering his hands on the table and look around.

I snapped my head in his direction, hoping my stare was enough to make him stop. Once he noticed me, his bored expression turned into a grin. "Hey I know you." He sand, pointing a finger at me. "You're Craig right?" He furthered, looking me up and down. I swallowed hard, staring at him. I nodded slowly. "My friend Brock told me all about you. He was gonna ask you to hang out at his dorm until that stupid kid came along." I felt so unsettled. Not only was Tyler talking about me, but Brock as well? He hadn't seen me or talked to me since what happened, which I thought was just luck. Although maybe Tyler threatened him. Maybe he was protecting me.
"O-oh." Was all I could reply, seeing as I was deep in thought. Our conversation was cut short when Tori hit me on the forearm, making me turn to face her.

"Would you two kindly shut the fuck up?" She hissed, her eyes darting from me to Brian. I rolled my eyes, leaning back in my chair so Brian could speak. He leant forward, resting his head on his right hand. He clicked his tongue.
"Look sweetie I'm having an important conversation with my pal Craig here." He replied in the lightest and most sarcastic voice I've heard. I tried to stifle my laugh, making grunts and snickers instead. I felt the anger radiating off of Tori as she was about to explode with anger. Just as she opened her mouth, taking a deep breath in, we were interrupted by Mr. Jefferson. He stared at all three of us, stepping as close as he could to the front row, all the nerds melting in their seats.
"Tori and Craig. I will see both of you at the end of class as well. Pay attention." He snapped before turning on his heels. This was my first detention I had ever gotten. Ever. If it was even a detention. I wasn't even talking when he was looking at me. Maybe he just didn't like me.

Once everyone had left, there was just us three in the hall. Mr. Jefferson made us sit on complete opposite sides of the hall to each other. I sat at the front left, Brian took front middle and Tori was on the right. Brian was staring at me smirking still, while Tori was giving us both dead eye the whole time. Mr. Jefferson was at his desk, tapping away on his computer. It was the only thing filling the awkward silence. I couldn't bear the fact that I was being stared at, and the only way my body knew how to react was by going red. So I sat there at my desk, arms by my side and a tomato face. I felt bad for dragging Tori into detention, since she was trying to shut us up. She had been pissed off with me ever since I decided to walk a separate way to her.

After we were excused from detention I walked out the door last, allowing myself some breathing space. It also let me know that there were no eyes staring into the back of my head. As I exited I saw Tori automatically link arms with her friend Kara, and Brian went to his friend Brock. Once Brock saw my little red face again, he blocked me from walking any further. "Woah woah where are you going little lad?"
"It's Mini Lad." I replied through gritted teeth. I tried to slide under his arm to get away but he just grabbed me by the back of my collar and pulled me back in. I looked up at him eventually, seeing his cheeky grin.
"I just wanna give you something. So you can be reminded of me. We're friends right?" He asked, reaching for something in his pocket.

"Right..." I mumbled in reply as I kept my stare on his pocket. He soon pulled his hand out to reveal a bracelet? He unclipped it and held it out to my wrist, urging for me to hold my arm out. I did so and he connected it around my arm, smiling in admiration. He looked accomplished, as if he had just prevented a war from happening. I took a look down at the dark green band, then back up to Brock. Before I could ask the question he had already answered.
"It's a friendship bracelet, dummy. So when you look at it you'll be reminded of me." He wasn't wrong, I guess. I wouldn't forget someone as upfront and arrogant as him. I took one last look at him before returning my arm to my side and smiling.
"Thanks. I have to go now." I replied, walking off down the corridor.
