I heard a heartbeat monitor ring in my ears like an alarm clock. I swung my arm off the edge of my bed to try and silence the noise, being stuck in a state of tiredness. My knuckle hit the machine to my right, making me flinch in pain. My eyes instinctively opened and I looked at the unfamiliar room. My memories came back to me as I sat up from where I lay. I was on a hospital bed, but far from being in a hospital. The beeping pace quickened as I panicked in my current situation. I was plugged into the machine next to me, but I had no clue what half of the wires were for.

I looked to the other side of the room, where one of the men with coloured hair sat. He was clearly asleep, his red hair drooped over his face and his back was slouched into the chair. It was now or never. I had to think of a plan. Do I go for the silent escape? Or to try and attack? I spent a while just sat on the edge of the bed, calming my heart rate and trying to think of the pros and cons to everything. Eventually I leant back in the bed and looked over at the heart rate machine. I let my right hand wander to the wire that connected to the heartbeat monitor. I gave one tug at where the wire met the machine, and began my acting.

The machine flat-lined, making out that I was now dead. I quickly got into position and shut my eyes. I heard a grunt, then a gasp. The chair on the other side of the room squeaked as it dragged along the floor from the force of the man leaving it. I let my eyes open slightly so I could see the floor. His feet soon came into range as he looked over my carcass. I took it as my opportunity to head-butt the shit out of him. He was only stunned for a second so I reached my hand around his side to try and find some sort of weapon. He had a pocket knife, which I didn't hesitate to snatch.

(GORE WARNING)

The red haired man was now out of his daze and swung a fist to my face. I blocked it and used my other arm to sink the knife into his side. He growled and grabbed on to my arm to try and pull it backwards. I kicked myself up and off of the bed, making him have to move to keep his grip on me. I kneed his stomach as he smashed me into the wall on one side. I tried to move my knife to catch his neck, but I was too low. He was shouting at me, but my adrenaline was too high for me to take note. I kept stabbing into the same side as his grip was too strong for me to go anywhere else.

I was trying to remember what I had learnt from what Tyler told me, but I was in too much of a panic. He twisted my wrist, making me drop the knife and wince in pain. He pushed me against the wall again then dove to reach for his pocket knife. My hands were shaky and I ran to the other side of the room, knowing he had already took the knife back. He tried to attack me, but I pushed the bed in between us and looked to the operating tray for a weapon. I pushed everything off that was deemed useless to me until I came across a scalpel. I had no other choice than to take it.

I kicked the heart monitor on wheels over to the red haired man to slightly distract him. He knocked it over as I rushed forward at him. He tried to attack first, which I blocked then went in straight after. I couldn't strike his head or neck so I hit his stomach once more. I could feel him cringing in pain, but he wouldn't back down. He spun me around, making me fall and hit my head against the floor. I didn't want to give up, and passed my weapon to the other hand to make an attack to his arm.

I faked a swing before digging the scalpel into his wrist, his hand twitched and dropped the knife. I kicked him in the nuts and pushed off of him to get away before standing up. "You son of a bitch! You can not escape! The key will be used!" He growled, holding his wrist. I did not stay to listen anymore and headed for the door. I pulled on the handle which was clearly locked. I tried to elbow the door quickly as the red haired man began to run my way, but to no avail. I ducked quickly as he came running at me with swinging fists, only to hit the door open for me. His blood had officially stained the room, I looked away and ran to get out of there.

The corridor was plain white and I felt as though I was travelling through the same area on loop. After only seconds of running must I have tripped an alarm as a siren sound rang through the corridors. I didn't have time to stay in one place but still opened the door closest to me to hide in. I shut he door behind me and tried to let my eyes adjust to the complete darkness that surrounded me. There were few boxes on the floor which I didn't hesitate to use as some type of force to reinforce the door with. I then crawled along the floor until I came across a storage unit to go under.

Panicked breathing and an unbearable siren was all I could hear, as my sight was still failing me. I understood that they were all vampires, and the smell of someone else's blood might have been enough to help me get away. While no-one was in my perimeter I decided to check out the rest of the room very slowly and quietly. I turned around on my stomach and pulled myself from under the shelves. I kept crouched and weaved my way through a maze of boxes. There was a single orange light that was giving off minimal light in the centre of the room, giving everything an eerie feel. It was easy to say I was uncomfortable.

Moving more boxes out of the way I discovered something that made me much happier, a window. I tried the handle and to my luck it was unlocked, but I wasn't celebrating so soon. I pushed it upwards and carefully stepped out. There was no time to waste, as I took a quick look left and right before running out into the open. The next blockage in my way was a wire fence with a small rabbit-sized gap in one corner where two meshes met. I couldn't hesitate, and leapt forward to crawl through. I felt the spikes of the opening dig into my hips and arms but it didn't matter. I just needed to get out.

I rolled on to my back and used my legs to give me that final push out. The wire may have cut deeper than just my clothes, but my adrenaline kept me going. I was up in an instant and back again running for what I feared was my life. How was I to know where this key was inside of me, and how they were going to get it out?
