I immediately caught the effects of Brock's friendship bracelet. It was like a repellent to half the school. It was either seriously uncool or there was something more to friendship bracelets. It must have been some wordless way of saying 'leave me alone'. After leaving Brock and Brian I walked past Tyler's friend group, or 'Vanoss' as Tori called them. Once I had came within a metre of them all they immediately moved away, a couple of them muttering curses under their breath. I thought that maybe I hadn't showered, but the look of complete sadness on Tyler's face made me think otherwise. The next day when I had Mr. Jefferson's class I sat next to Tori and Brian as usual, although things were off again. Tori was different, and it wasn't just because of what I had dragged her into yesterday. She was almost reluctant to sit next to me. Brian sat next to me no problem and had his eyes set on me, while Tori wanted to move away.
"What the hell are you wearing on your arm?" She hissed, looking over at me with just her eyes. She was on the corner of her desk, as far away as possible.
"It's a friendship bracelet you numb nut." Brian replied before I could.
"Oh yeah friendship bracelet my ass. That shit is gross." She huffed.
"But your arms are covered in bracelets." I replied, trying not to sound cocky. She mumbled something incoherent before returning her gaze to the front of the room.
"I heard that." Brian growled at her, but she decided not to reply. How did he hear when I couldn't? Is he bluffing? I decided to stay quiet while Mr. Jefferson entered the hall. He gave us all a glare before setting down his briefcase on his desk. This is going to be one long lesson.----
After a few days of the same old happening, something different happened. I was sat on my bed, doing homework like any average person would. Adam was around at Max's dorm, Anthony around at Steven's. Nick was also home, using the sofa to do his homework on. It was pretty silent until I heard a knock at the door. I thought I may have mistaken it for some drunk idiot walking past, but they knocked again. I thought it was strange since the door was unlocked, so if it was one of my 'friends' they could walk in. "I'll get it." Nick shouted from the other room, making me sit back again. I heard him open the door, but he didn't say anything. After a few seconds he called my name. I huffed and threw my books to one side to get up. I walked out my room and stared at Nick who was holding a box. It was red with a white bow, the classic. He gestured for me to take it, one hand still on the door.
"It says your name on the card. It was left on the floor I don't know who..." He trailed off as I peeked my head outside of the door. If this is some kind of sick joke... I thought to myself as I untied the lace bow. It fell off with one pull, dangling off my arm. I lifted the lid of the box to see paper wrapping, which I hastily took off. It uncovered a bracelet. Another? It was red and it looked a lot nicer than the one Brock gave to me. Maybe Brock gave me another. I could only stand and stare as it rested in my hand. Nick was first to speak up. "What is it?" He asked, eyeing me suspiciously. I picked it up in my hand, dropping the box on to the sofa at the side of me. I lifted it up to head height in front of us both, letting him look. He took it from me, getting a closer look for himself. While he did that, I looked back at the box, seeing there was a note left inside.
Wear
~ TThat's it? I shrugged and put the note back into the box along with the bow. Once Nick had taken his look at the bracelet he gave it me, returning back to his homework. I sighed and took it with me back to my room. I fell back on to my bed, still holding on to the bracelet. I took one last look at it before strapping it around my wrist. The colour kind of matched the green one, they were similar in make. Who was 'T' though? Tori? Tyler? Or maybe it wasn't a name, it was 'thanks'? I groaned in frustration and decided to return back to my homework.
----
The next day in Mr. Jefferson's class I went straight to Tori to ask her about the bracelet. I shoved it in her face as I got to my desk, making her almost fall backwards. "What the fuck are you doing!" She hissed, clinging on to the desk for support. "I already told you I hate that dumb bracelet!" I shook my head.
"I got another one last night." I replied ho,ding the red one.
"Well that's just fucking grea-." She stopped as she looked at it. "Pass it to me." She commanded, holding her hand out. I offered my wrist, making her recoil. "No, take the bracelet off and give it me." I inwardly sighed, pulling it off myself. I dropped it into her open hand, allowing her to take it. She kept her distance with my other bracelet, making me confused. "Who gave you this?" She mumbled.
"I don't know, I thought it might have been you." I replied scratching my head."Wasn't me. Did you get a note with it? Where did you find it?"
"Woah woah Sherlock. It was at my door. And it was signed 'T', which made me think it was your name." I confessed, finally sitting at my desk. She sighed.
"Whoever gave you this knows what they're doing." She hand it back to me. "And I think red is definitely more your colour." She added, smirking.~~~~
