I was sat at the dinner table with vanoss, all of us were here for our first dinner together. I was sat in between Tyler and Evan. Lui and David were opposite, Jonathan and Marcel on the ends. Lui happened to be taking classes in cooking, and had made us all a pasta dish. It didn't aid the awkwardness of the lack in conversation though. I sat slumped in my seat and quietly ate my food, while David complained about this and that in his thick Irish accent. He was shouted at by Marcel, making him scoff in annoyance and sit back in his seat. "So how is training coming along Craig?" Evan asked to the left of me. I turned to face him and shrugged my shoulders.
"As good as something so painful could be." I complained.

"Well that's all part of the experience." He replied smirking and nudging my shoulder.
"If that's what the 'experience' entails then I'm done." I replied only half joking. Marcel huffed from the other side of the table, giving a sassy retort.
"It's not like you've broken a bone."
"Not yet." David smirked, pointing his fork to Marcel, himself rolling his eyes.
"How's the pasta?" Lui asked in between the others conversations.
"We're not gonna be that harsh on him." Marcel told David.
"It's really nice." I replied to Lui.
"Not that harsh, yet!" David raised his voice to speak over the rest of us.
"Shut the fuck up Nogla." Tyler snapped, obviously talking to David. It must have been a nickname, as he immediately bowed his head. Evan cleared his throat.

"So you have training with Tyler for the rest of this week. Then next week will be the final week, because I sense that people have been discussing you. Especially Brock." He explained, looking over at me. I nodded my head, looking over to Tyler.
"So what are we doing tomorrow?" I asked him as he took a bite of his food.
"You're gonna learn to handle a knife." He replied seeming pretty alright with it.
"That sounds like a terrible idea. I don't like knives." I replied.
"Well neither does anyone else. Which is why you need it as a first line of defence." He stayed not looking at me, making me uneasy.
"Great..."

After dinner I was pushed in to my room and locked in, as usual. It was only 7pm, so I wasn't exactly going to just sleep the entire time. There was no entertainment for me, not even a TV. Not even a book. There were bookshelves, but no books. I sighed and looked for some kind of thing to do. Then an idea popped up in my head. I remembered what I had seen in movies before where the victim was trapped and needed to get out. It was a little stupid, but at least it would be entertaining for a little while. I grabbed the broken bed post from under the bed and broke it in to two. I used the sharp end of the wood to swipe across my arm, making a small red line. Blood soon seeped out a little, which I wiped up and smeared across my face. I then threw both pieces of wood to the wall by the door, making a lot of noise. I then turned around and flopped to the floor, making a dramatic scene.

I heard someone's footsteps from outside, that soon appeared by my door. I heard the lock click and the door opened from behind me. Now was my chance to run, but I wanted to make sure I had a completely clear shot. I turned my head around, showing the blood covered face. "What the fuck?!" Lui shouted, his eyes dilating quickly. I saw them go red from the sight of blood, making me realise the error of my ways. Lui wasn't sure if he should try to help me or run for help. I didn't want to worry him anymore, and stood up really quickly to run for the door. Once he saw me running at him he jumped out the way, unsure of my intentions. Marcel was making his way to me when I was in the corridor, so I needed a new place to run to. I dove for the office opposite my room.

I shut the door behind me and twisted the lock on the inside. There were now three of them outside making noise, pretty worried about what I was doing. I looked over to the window, that was cracked open slightly. I decided to test myself and head towards it. I climbed on top of the desk to be able to reach it, then swung my leg over. I landed on the roof of the next floor down, hopefully doing it silently enough for the guys not to notice. Nothing like going for an afternoon jog outside right? I almost made myself laugh, but I couldn't due to my concentration. Once my feet were on the floor I hopped the fence and went on to the back garden. I knew that they were going to smell me out anyway, so I didn't bother trying to leave the premises. Instead I demonstrated what I had learnt from Marcel and climbed the biggest tree on the back garden. By the time I was halfway up I heard their muffled voices of worry, telling me to come inside.

It wasn't logical to put real blood on me, because they're vampires. But for a second I thought they were human, I thought they were just normal people like me. I looked down at my now bloody hands, and a smudged line of crimson on my arm. The cut wasn't that bad, and I began to lick it away. Little weird I know. Lui jumped up the tree and perched himself far away from me. "Are you okay..?" He asked a little worried for himself as well as me. I nodded, looking at my now clean cut.
"I just wanted some fresh air..." I mumbled in reply.
"It's dangerous out here at night, you know that. Sorry there's not much we can do about that." Lui sounded genuine, and reached forward asking for my hand. I accepted it, and let him guide me down. I then saw the mess of myself in the reflection of the glass window. Tyler was the other side, but he quickly turned and walked away. I'm so stupid...
