We sit huddled under a blanket, on the couch, side by side, shoulders touching, half empty water bottles on the floor.
"You just called your Senpai stupid."
"Well, she is pretty dense."
"And you're not?"
"Of course I'm not."
I glare in mock anger. "How can you say that?"
"Because you're too easy to read."
My eyes widen in disbelief. "Wha... Really?"
Without warning, his fingers reach out and curl between mine. Surprise and embarrassment seep out of me and I feel a cold sweat of strange helplessness.
"See?"
