Here I was, standing awkwardly in a dim coffee shop. People I've seen around campus surrounded me, but I didn't have enough courage to speak to any of them.

Instead, I was alone and leaning against a wall with a steaming cup of coffee in my hand. The smell of the coffee soothed me, warming my soul and keeping me sane.

I waited for Justin to come out on the small stage they had set up, the spotlight directly on a stool and microphone stand.

A part of me, however, was full of regret for even showing up. I wanted to enjoy myself, not feel excluded. I know Justin invited me, but I figured I would at least know one person here. Interrupting my thoughts, my eyes moved onto the stage when the large group of people began cheering and shouting.

Justin raised himself onto the stool, the signature smirk on his face. A guitar was strapped securely around him, and he adjusted the microphone to his liking. He tapped it once, the sound echoing throughout the room.

He scanned the room, waving to the people he invited. Spotting me against the wall, he winked. I'm glad the room was dark because if the lights were on, they would have seen my knees becoming wobbly. Intaking a deep breath, I straightened my posture and took a sip of my coffee.

As soon as he began strumming his guitar, the room grew silent. Not one set of eyes was placed anywhere but him. We watched in fascination as he plucked the strings so skillfully. My eyes widened, not expecting such talent out of him.

His lips pressed against the microphone, the words pouring out of his mouth like a waterfall. His voice was deep and beautiful, working perfectly with the chords he strummed. My coffee no longer interested me, my attention now fully placed on Justin. He shut his eyes, the veins popping out on his neck from the raw passion and talent.

When he finished, he kept his eyes shut. I'm guessing it was all too surreal for him. Opening them finally, he saw that the entire room had risen to their feet for him. His cheeks burned bright, his contagious smile on display once more.

"Thank you guys so much," He spoke into the microphone, his voice sounding genuine and appreciative.

The people that were here, mostly girls, formed a line that stretched across the room just to praise Justin after his performance.

I remained off to the side, waiting for the hype to die down so I could talk to Justin without being rushed.

"Who are you?"

The whiny voice made me cringe, my eyebrows furrowing as I looked for the source.

"Uh, Jasmine," I replied anxiously, not quite sure who the woman was.

"Do you go to USC?"

I nodded my head and watched her smirk as she flipped her hair over her shoulder.

"Then I'm guessing Justin invited you?"

I smiled and nodded my head, feeling special because of her reminder.

"Don't get too excited. You see every girl in this room?" She said rudely, pointing her finger towards the line of women. "He personally invited each of them. I thought you would have known by now."

My smile dropped slowly, my throat becoming hoarse and preventing me from gulping. She looked me up and down before making her way into the line that was slowly dying down.
