Being up on the rooftop was memorable, obviously, but it was the reason I laid in bed with a cold. My choice of poor clothing that day had such negative results.

I had decided to skip school today, using the free time I had to relax and recover.

As I sat up against the headboard of my bed in my tiny apartment, I heard my phone ringing from the bedside table. Groaning, I climbed out of the warm covers to retrieve it.

The number was unfamiliar, causing me to furrow my eyebrows in confusion. If I don't know who's calling me, I never pick up. Angered that the caller had wasted my precious time, I hopped back into bed to hear my phone buzzing once more.

"Jesus," I muttered, feeling the annoyance building within me. Irritatedly, I put the phone against my ear and was greeted by a voice that I was not expecting.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Jas," Justin spoke from the other end, causing my eyes to widen in shock. How did he get my number? I sniffed my nose to try and alleviate the stuffiness, not wanting to sound terrible over the phone.

"Justin? How did you get my number?" I laughed, wiping my nose with a tissue. I propped my knees up and looked up at the ceiling as I waited for him to respond.

"I may have asked around for it."

I could practically see his smirk even though he was nowhere near me. I laughed, a cough escaping from my lips immediately.

"So that's why you stayed home," Justin said, laughing on the other end. I frowned, regardless of whether he could see me or not.

"Yeah. If I don't feel better by tomorrow, I'm probably going to stay home again."

I heard endless chatter from his end, probably because it was break time and everyone roamed freely out of their classes.

"Poor little baby," He cooed, teasing me. "It's my break right now. Do you want me to bring you anything?"

My eyes widened, not expecting an offer like this. I bit my lip and thought of what to say. Apparently I dazed off for quite some time because the clearing of his throat regained my attention.

"Uh, I don't wanna bother you. Enjoy your break."

He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, replying, "I'll be fine. Tell me if you need anything."

I grinned at his offer, biting my lip to suppress my ever-growing smile.

"Would you be able to drop off some tea to my apartment?" I asked sheepishly, trying not to ask for too much.

"Of course. Is that it?" I nodded my head, but then realized that he couldn't see me.

"Yeah, that's it. Thank you for doing this, Justin. I'll text you my address."

"Awesome. See you in a few," He said childishly, making me laugh before I hung up the phone. I clutched it to my chest, feeling it beating faster now.

I put my phone down, wondering if I should put a little makeup on to look presentable. Deciding I didn't care enough, I laid back down in bed and gave up on my looks. Justin would just have to appreciate my makeup-free face and fuzzy pajama shorts.

I got through a few episodes of Friends before there were loud knocks on my door. Quite literally rolling out of bed, I slipped my sandals on and opened the door, only to be greeted by a very happy looking Justin.

He stood before me with his perfectly quiffed hair, a plain hoodie and jeans clothing him. In his hands were a cup of tea, and a bag full of things I couldn't make out. A bouquet of daisies was propped up in the bag, though.

"Surprise," He smiled, stepping into my apartment. His dimples that I loved so much appeared at the corners of his mouth.

"You've outdone yourself," I laughed, grabbing the things from his hands and leading him to my bedroom. I didn't know how to thank him, so I just pressed my body into his unexpectedly, wrapping my arms around his neck.

He was taken back by the sudden contact, but his hands slowly slid their way down to my hips, laying softly above them. We stood in the embrace for what seemed to be an eternity before I pulled away, smiling sheepishly.

"Thank you for this," I said genuinely, taking a seat on my bed by crossing my legs. He kicked his shoes off, copying my actions.

"It's no big deal."

I smiled again and took a sip of the tea, my throat warming instantly. As I rummaged through the bag, I saw that he had gotten me a box of cookies, cough drops, and flowers. He smirked as he saw my eyes lighting up with appreciation.

"You're literally a lifesaver," I gushed, my voice cracking slightly.

"I know," He teased, earning an eye roll from me. "I like your shorts, by the way."

I looked down at them, admiring the floral printed shorts.

"Hey, a girl's gotta be comfortable," I shrugged, opening up the box of cookies. Offering him one, he accepted it gratefully and hummed in satisfaction as he took a bite.

Sipping my tea, I asked him how school went today. He shrugged, explaining that music history was just as boring as ever, and he didn't bother paying attention in his other classes either. He talked about how Christian, the guy in our music class, was caught making out with a girl while Professor James taught. I laughed so hard, I almost spit out the hot tea onto Justin's face.

"Damn, I really should've showed up today," I frowned, taking a minute to recover from my excessive laughter.

"I know, right? I missed you," He pouted, making my smile grow instantly.

"I was too busy catching my beauty sleep," I joked, watching him stick his tongue out at me.

He put his hand over his heart, making a pained expression.

"That hurt me right here. Don't be so mean, baby."

At the mention of the word baby, I felt the blood within me rush frantically through my veins. All I could do was smile and look down at my lap so he couldn't see my pathetic grin.

He tickled my side, knowing that it would get me to look up. I glared at him through my giggling, trying my best to swat his hands away. He ignored my protests and continued tickling me until I fell back onto the bed, his body hovering over mine.

His fingers suddenly stopped tickling me, the atmosphere becoming tense within a matter of seconds. We stared into each other's eyes, the only thing making sounds in the room were our ragged breaths.

His fingers now trailed up to my cheeks, brushing lightly over them. I shuddered at the sudden touch, but continued staring him as he caressed my face.

I gulped nervously, watching his eyes close slowly as his head lowered. Closing my eyes as well, I laid nervously still as I awaited what I thought would be a successful kiss.

As soon as his lips hovered over mine, a rough, painful cough escaped from my lips, causing me to turn my head to the side.

Justin climbed off me quickly, his cheeks growing red with embarrassment. He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck as I buried my face in my hands, cursing under my breath.

I really messed this one up, didn't I?
