The drive from the airport to my apartment was a blur, the only things I could remember being the cold air in the car and the amount of people on the road today.

I sat numbly on the carpet, my back pressed against the bumpy wall. A cold cup of tea was placed on my lap, steam no longer escaping from it. It had been eight hours since Justin left, meaning that he had already landed in Atlanta a few hours ago. Expecting a call from him, I found myself checking my phone every couple of minutes.

Making me jump up with fear, loud knocks pounded against my door. I groaned, moving the cup of tea off my lap and struggling to stand up to open the door. I looked through the peephole, but couldn't see because of how dirty it was.

Hesitantly pulling the door open, Tyler stood before me with his hands in his pockets and a crooked smile on his lips.

"Hi, love," His eyes lit up. "Is it okay if I come in?"

Scoffing under my breath, I nodded my head and moved aside so he could walk in. He took a seat on the couch and patted the spot next to him.

I took a seat a foot away from him, curling my legs up and hugging them. Tyler turned to face me, pulling off his leather jacket.

"I heard about Justin," He frowned, throwing his jacket over the arm of the couch. "Wanted to come here and check up on you. I know how you feel."

"You do?" I furrowed my eyebrows, looking at him in confusion.

Chuckling, he ran his tattooed fingers through the blonde tips of his hair.

"As a matter of fact, I do," A slight English accent peeked through his words. "My girl-, I mean, she wasn't really my girlfriend, but-"

Biting my lip to prevent myself from laughing, I looked at him with amusement.

"Wait, before you continue," I cut him off. "Are you from England?"

Smirking, he nodded his head and scratched the stubble on his chin.

"I was born there, yeah. Moved here when I was two years old, so my accent isn't so strong. It only comes through with certain words."

Nodding my head in regards to this newfound information, I moved closer to Tyler and urged him to continue his story.

"It's funny that you and I share similar situations. This girl I took an interest to suddenly moved away because she wanted more opportunities for the future. She was a dancer," Tyler gushed, smiling nostalgically.

He continued, his eyes becoming glossy with tears that never fell.

"One day she was here, and the next day she wasn't. I didn't even know about it, though, which was the worst part. I got a text from her while she was on her flight to New York. I didn't know how to respond, so I blocked her number."

Covering my mouth to hide my laughter, Tyler placed his attention on me and smiled sadly at my reaction.

"I'm sorry, I just find that so funny," I shrugged, pushing my hair behind my back.

"It's all good. It's quite funny when I hear it myself."

Smiling, I leaned my head on his shoulder and felt his body tense before relaxing when I ran my fingers up and down his tattooed arm.
