The Purchase of the cafeteria was concluded within an hour of the two parties meeting at the owners residence.

Mr. Omollo from his Smartphone had the money transferred from his account to that of Previous owner after all documents were duly signed.

The lawyer a young good-looking gentleman handed the documents to martin the new proud owner of the cafeteria. The Martins were lost for words. Their joy knew no bounds. They had left their child sleeping as she was a sound sleeper and nothing short of an earth would wake her up before 6 am. Denis and Mercy were at home in case anything was to happen.

Now that the status of the Martin’s had changed from employees to employers, conversation changed in the room. The talk was how business had become had. Money was scarce and staying afloat was a challenge for many businesses.

The gathering broke up just after 9 pm. The lawyer drove off in a sleek Mercedes 200 and the other team followed.

Back at the Omollo’s, Judy could hardly contain her Joy. The Cafeteria they had just taken over could seat 50 people at a sitting and had a delivery van used to get kitchen commodities and for general mobility. Martin’s Driving licence was to come in handy.

“Now we will both be able to go back to night school and do the courses we had always wanted to do.” Martin declared. Judy nodded her head in silence but the joy was clearly visible in her contention.

“ And those are?” Asked Mary.

“Accounts for me and catering for Judy.”

“Very good choices. I can help you with accounting but even better, you could hire Naomi during her holidays to assist you.  That should give her some exposure in management. Before she moves into our company.” Mary said amusing Michael.

“You have it all planned out dear?”

“What do you mean sweetie?” How Mary asked, with raised eyebrows.

“How Naomi will move in after she finishes.”

“But sweetheart, she has to learn to run the company it is her inheritance.”

“But she will not be the only child for long, and she may also not be interested in moving in to a ready made company. If she takes after you, she will definitely want to start her own.”

“I agree to that.” Mr. Omollo said. “She will not be an only child for long!!” that caused everyone in the room bursts into laughter. “And talking of childbearing, when are we to go to the coast. Both our leaves with Mama Denis are due and the coast would be a nice place to visit.”

“I was thinking of tomorrow evening. I hope Naomi would have come back by then. Has she talked to you again?” Michael asked Mary. The memories of what happened in the office came back strongly.

“No but I will call her tomorrow morning. I want her to feel trusted and not to feel like she is being monitored.” Mary answered with a glow in  her heart to imagine in a very short while she will be her legal mother.

“I have not called my in-laws for over a year and I need to inform them of my visit.” As the time was approaching 10.30 Pm he felt that he might get them still awake. Tracy’s grandfather had been a workaholic and did not sleep till after midnight even in his old age. He dialled and was rewarded by ringing on the other end.

“Hello Michael, it’s a long time since you called here. I assumed you took on another wife and decided not to have anything with us coast people.” Mr. Abdallah lamented.

“I would never do that, I was in a terrible shock after Tracy passed on and felt that I needed to move on and talking to you always reopened my wounds.” Michael explained.
