Alice was carried into the house by the guys as the ladies ensured that a wrapping that had been placed around a waist to kept hidden her essentials. Alice was carried into the house and placed on a settee and the nurse began undoing the front of her blouse before she realised her mistake.
“All the men out!!”
The order was quickly carried out. Anne followed them as she wanted to talk to Peter about the Alice’s predicament.
“This is weird.” Ian commented. “I hope is not the hospital situation all over again.”
“What hospital situation?” A gentleman asked.
“A long story, forget it” Anne responded.
“How can it be forgotten if it has happened to her before and it can help her?” The same man.
“Not to her but believe me it will be alright. She will recover.” Anne explained as she moved away from him not wanting anymore questions. She also didn’t want to know how Alice would wake up but she hoped it would be soon.
“Isn’t that the General Manager to your parents company?” John asked Peter.
“Yes, she is.” Peter answered with emotions thick in his voice. “And a very dear friend.” He added.
“I saw her once in the company of your mother-in-law, who is my boss, but I didn’t get a good look at her. I have heard about her achievements at the helm of the company for the short duration that she has been in charge.” John added.
Peter suddenly got curious of the interest John had in Alice.
“Believe me she will be ok. Trust me.” Peter comforted him. But his curiosity was of what powers he had transferred to her as all signs pointed in that direction.
Alice lay breathing easily and softly on the settee she was placed on. She seemed to be in a very peaceful sleep. The ladies that looked down on her from where they stood could not fail to feel that all would work out all right. One thing very noticeable was a glowing-like texture of her skin that brought out a beauty she initially didn’t have. She was glowing.
- Now what?
Naomi asked herself. Will she require a prince charming to wake her up? She wondered.
Suddenly John remembered that he had forgotten his car keys on the window sill when he stopped to feel the texture of the curtains.
“Guys I got to go back inside, I forgot my keys in the living room earlier on as I came in.” John informed the men.
“Just keep a wide berth from the women. Unless you want your eyes scratched out.” Advised one of the men.
“I will do that.” John smiled back as he made it to the door.
Inside he found the mood of the women very perplexed, they were too engrossed in thought of Alice’s fate that none saw him slip past them to the living room where he luckily found his keys on the window sill.
On his way back, he almost collided into an agitated Mrs.Omollo.
“Hey. What are you doing here, I thought all males were exempted from this room?” She queried john after recovering her balance.
“I had left my cars back there, sorry about the near bumping-into-you issue I was in haste not to be seen by you guys.”
Naomi was so caught up looking for any hopeful signs of her recovery that she did not notice John’s arrival but she did note a sudden twitch of Alice’s facial muscles at the sound of John’s voice. She quickly whirled round and called John to get closer. He did so confused at her request.
