Girl Meets Baby Shower

25 weeks pregnant

Its been 3 weeks since the accident and Lucas and I have both fully recovered. Today is my baby shower. Lucas' mom and Riley are throwing it so I have no idea how its going to turn out. I don't know anything about the shower other than I need to be at the Friars at 1 o'clock. I put on a green dress and curled my hair in a half up/half down style. Lucas left about an hour ago to play baseball with all the guys since the shower is girls only. I grabbed my bag and my keys and drove to the friars. When I got to the house I didn't see many cars there, but then again it was only 1:15, maybe everyone is late like me. I grabbed my bag and walked up to the door. I walked through the house and out to the backyard.

"Surprise!" About 70 or so girls from school jumped out a yelled.

Happy tears formed in my eyes as Riley came and hugged me.

"Oh my god. This is crazy!" I said smiling and hugging everyone. I wasn't the closest friends with all these people but I was still there friend and I was amazed that many people showed up.

The backyard was decorated as a jungle theme. In the back of the yard there was a table with pink decorative bags and pink wrapped presents on it with a banner hanging about it saying, "MAYA AND LUCAS WILL WELCOME BABY FRIAR TO THE JUNGLE ON MAY 3rd."

Its was so cute. When I walked into the house it was decorated with vines and statues of jungle animals. The food was even jungle themed! I made myself a plate of food and walked around and tried to talk to everyone. Everyone asked the same questions which got boring after a while but it was nice to see that all these people cared about me and my baby.

After talking to everyone I sat down with Mrs.Friar, Riley and Mrs.Matthews.

"Thank you guys so much for doing this, its means everything to me." I said smiling. They all returned the smile and we continued to talk about everything.

Mrs.Friar soon started the baby shower games, one was where everything had to guess the size of my stomach, the next was a trivia game about me and lucas and the last was a thing where everyone got a card and wrote down a name suggestion for the baby.

After the games, Lucas, Farkle, Zay and the rest of the guys "crashed" the baby shower. Mrs.Friar told Lucas to come towards the end of the shower to help me open the gifts because we got so many.

I walked over to Lucas as he came in the backyard. Hes wearing his baseball uniform and he is very sweaty.

"Well hello there." I said pecking his lips. He pulled away and smiled down at me.

"Hows she doin?" He asked placing his hand on my stomach.

"Shes good. She moving around alot but I think shes gonna be pretty excited to see all the presents she got." I said pointing to the table with all the pink boxes and bags.

"Those are all for her?" Lucas asked amazed.

"Yep, someone is already spoiled." I said laughing. Lucas and I began to open all the presents. We got so many things that we needed like diapers and clothes and toys. My dad even bought a crib and offered to have the guest bedroom in his house to turned into a nursery. It took us about a total of 3 hours to open gifts and after that everyone started to leave. I was really happy that so many people came and care so much about Lucas, the baby and I.

After everyone left I help clean up.

"Maya please go sit down. Let me do it." Mrs.Friar says

"Oh I'm fine I can do it. Its the least I can do after you and Riley threw me this amazing shower. Thank you so much. We really appreciate it." I said placing my hand on my stomach.

"Oh sweetie. You are so welcome." She said rubbing my stomach. The baby kicked and I can see the excitement on Lucas' moms face. I am so lucky that I have her support considering my mother wasn't as accepting.

After cleaning Lucas, my dad and I went home. I changed and got into my pajamas. Lucas and I claimed into bed and he wrapped his arm around me. As we stroked and rubbed circles on my baby bump I fell fast asleep.
