Girl Meets Gone

"Thank you so much." I said hoping inside the car after loading all my bags in the trunk.

"It really means alot to me that you did this and that your going to let me stay with you." I said buckling my seatbelt. As the car pulled out out of the driveway I placed my hand and stared out the window. Bye Lucas.

Lucas POV
-8:00 am-

I rolled over and my arm hit the bed. I opened my eyes and looked around. Maya is nowhere to be seen. I got up and walked around my house.

"Maya?" I called out. There was no response. I walked into my moms room to see that she had already left for work. I grabbed my phone and called Maya. Straight to voicemail. Then I texted her and hoped for a response.
I walked back into my room and saw that all of Mayas bags are gone. Where could she have gone? Did I do something wrong?

I continued to get ready because we have school today. I sighed in relief, Maya will come to school. As much as she hates school she wouldnt miss because she knows she need to go as much as she can before the baby comes.

I walked over to my dresser to grab a clean shirt but saw a piece of paper on it. I grabbed the paper and began to read,

Dear Lucas,

I have to go. I just don't think things are working out. We need to break up. I've been keeping this from you, but you arent the babys father. I wanted support and knew you were the best option for that. I'm sorry Lucas. I never wanted to hurt you. Its all over now and I am gone. Goodbye. Have a nice life. Thank you for being my best friend and for everything you have done for me.

"No..No.." I cried. This isnt real. This isnt happening. This is just a nightmare. Cmon Lucas wake up. Nothing. This is real. This is happening. I cant wake up because this is not a nightmare. I grabbed my school bag and my keys and ran to my car. I stepped on gas and drove.

MAYA POV

I walked into the condo. It was small but there was just enough room for me.

"You can stay in the guest room which is this way."

"Thanks." I said walking into the room. I put my bag on the bed and began to unpack some of my things. As I reached the middle of the bag I found the check. I sighed. I wanted to rip it up and go back home to Lucas. I hope he knew I'm only doing whats best for him. I cant dare show my face at school today. I cant see Lucas.

As finished unpacking the last few things I grabbed my phone to see I have 3 missed calls and 6 texts from Lucas. I ignored them and walked downstairs into the kitchen. I looked around the rest of the condo. I guess this is home now.

LUCAS POV

I parked my car and sprinted inside Shawns house. I used my key to unlock the door and stormed in.

"Maya?" I yelled. There was silence. I ran throughout the house screaming.

"Maya?!!" I yelled again.

"Lucas, whats going on? I thought you and Maya were staying at your moms." Shawn said stepping out into the living room.

"So did I but I guess she left in the middle of the night." I said handing him the note. I couldn't bring myself to talk about it.

"Lucas! We have to find her. I know my daughter and something is wrong. She loves you. She would never do this." He said. I nodded and we left and headed to the Matthews.

We buzzed and they let us in.

"SHAWNIEE." Cory screamed as we walked through the door. After seeing the looks on both of our faces he knew instantly something was wrong.

"Oh Shawnie, whats wrong?" He asked walking towards us. I looked at Shawn and I could see he wanted me to give him the note. I handed it to him and his expression changed.

"Well do we know any places she might be?" Cory asked

"I was hoping she would be here. She always says this is her safe place." I said

"I havent seen her but maybe she snuck into Rileys room in the middle of the night." He said and we all walked to Rileys room.

Without knocking Cory swung the door open. Riley jumped and screamed. Maya was no where in sight.

"Whats going on?" Riley asked. I walked towards her and handed her the note. As she read it she began to cry.

"No."She said as she cried harder.

"I know. I know." I cried and wrapped her into a hug.

"We have to find her." I said and I felt her nod.

We pulled apart and she wiped her eyes. We all explained to Topanga what is going on. We tried to brainstorm places we think Maya might have gone. We checked Katy's, we checked school, we checked all the art museums in sight and all of Mayas friends houses but no one has seen her. I began to worry more and more.

Where are you Maya?

MAYA POV

My phone was ringing for the 100th time. literally. Everyone has been trying to reach me but I keep ignoring them.
30 missed calls from Lucas
20 from Riley
15 from my dad
15 from Cory
15 from Topanga
10 from Farkle and even 2 from my mom.
Plus a million texts messages from everyone

Where are you? We can work things out. I still love you and I am worried please answer me. -Lucas

Maya please I am worried sick. Just tell me where you are and I will come get you. Everything will be okay. I love you. Please call me - Dad

"Please call someone. Preferably Lucas or Riley. Everyone is so worried and we need to hear from you. Please stay safe and know that we will find you. I love you - Farkle

"Peaches please please please call me. I need you to tell me your okay. I cant stand not knowing where you are and if your safe. We all love you and we wont stop searching until we find you. I love you so much Maya and I am lost without you. Please contact me and come home." -Riley

I said there and cried. Why did I go? Oh yea so Lucas' life wont be ruined forever. I turned off my phone and placed it on the table next to me.

"Maya maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe you should go back and tell Lucas about what happened. I'm sure hed understand and he would handle it. He loves you and its clear you love him."

"I know.."

I do need to go home but I dont want to ruin Lucas' life just for us to be together. I turned my phone back on and responded to everyone,

"I'm safe."
