Girl Meets Prom

Maya POV

37 weeks pregnant

Prom is less than a week away and I still haven't found a dress that both fits me and is comfortable. I'm also less than a month away from my due date so today Lucas and I are going to my final doctors appointment.

As we walked into the office hand and hand i smiled at Lucas and then at my baby bump. Its crazy to think that is less then 3 weeks I will have my little girl in my arms.

I laid back on the table and revealed my bare baby bump as the doctor came in. Lucas sat next to me and held my hand as the doctor placed the cold jelly on my stomach. She waved the wand around and the blurry image of my baby appeared on the monitor.

"Would you look at that she's already facing down. Good girl" The doctor said

After that the doctor checked my cervix to see if I was dilated.

"Okay it looks like you are about 1 centimeter dilated so she should be arriving soon."

I couldn't help but let a huge smile cross my face. Its all becoming so much more real.I sat up and wiped the gel off my stomach.

"So because you are already dilated you could go into labor early so just watch and if you start to feel contractions come in right away."

"Thank you so much!"

The car ride back to the apartment consisted of small talk. I walked into the apartment to see a box sitting on the couch wrapped in beautiful wrapping paper.

"Whats this?" I asked picking up the box.

"Open it" Lucas smiled. I tore into the wrapping paper and saw a white box. I lifted the lid to reveal a sight of mint green. I pulled it out of the box to see it was a dress. I smiled and my eyes started to tear up.

"Turns out they do sell prom dresses in the maternity section." Lucas said smiling. I covered my mouth with my hand and walked over to him. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. I can't wait for prom.

It's prom day! Today Riley and I are getting our hair and makeup professionally done while Lucas and Farkle get ready. Even though it literally only takes them like 20 minutes to get ready.

I was getting my hair curled and had two braids crisscrossing in the back with a very light makeup look. As the girl was curling my hair I started to feel strange but I couldn't sense what was causing the discomfort. After about 10 minutes it went away so I just shook it off like it was nothing.

After Riley and I both finished we stopped at a restaurant across the street to grab something to eat. I listen to Riley go on and on and on about how excited she was about prom which I understand but it was a little much. As the day continued on I was less and less excited  about going to prom. I was getting more uncomfortable.

After we finished eating we went back to Riley's to put on our dresses and do all the finishing touches. I help riley get into her really puffy dress and she helped me get into my dress.

My eyes started to water. These damn hormones are messing with me.

"Riles you look so beautiful" I said wiping the tears off of my face.

"Oh peaches don't cry! It will ruin your makeup." She said as she wiped away more tears.

"You look gorgeous." She said and I smiled.
