Call Me Back (A Fab Moretti fanfic)

We aren't a couple

~~~sorry I have no idea what New York is like and I don't feel like having to constantly search things up so let's pretend that the band originally started in California xD~~~

It was around 9:20 in the morning on a Sunday when I woke up and decided to get up finally to eat something and again the house is empty like always both my parents work almost everyday of the work they only get 2 days sometimes 1 day off but at least it gives me some privacy I guess. I decided to make some eggs and toast for myself to fill my never ending battle of hunger. Before I went to my room I fed my dog and then played some of The Beatles and old school music and classics out loud while I eat, it was like happiness and joy was filling my ears to the very brim and listening to the music that have helped you through the bad times in life reminds you that things will get better with music as music is this generations savior to many things. With finishing my food I went down stair to put away my dishes and when I did there was a knock on my door, I was wondering who it was so I went and opened it to reveal my new neighbor Fab wearing old looking converse, ripped jeans that look a little too big, and a plain white shirt with a leather jacket on top and nothing is wrong with that style I find it actually quite attractive he gave off a punk-ish vibe or rock n' roll vibe that I liked.
"Hey I was wondering if maybe you could show me around here since I'm new and all...but I mean you don't have too if you don't want too really..." Fab said with a nervous tone in his voice and him also looking slightly down at the floor.
"Oh um that's fine it's no bother I'll just get ready" I said "You can come in while I get ready real quick, do you want anything to drink I have some water, juice, soda..."
"I'm fine.... you have a nice house" he said trying to make small talk, honestly I disliked small talk but it's not like I'm gonna go ranting about something that happened on the news I'm usually polite but I can be a major bitch when you push my buttons enough which is weird because I get angry or annoyed easily but I don't go blowing up on people most of the time.
"Thank you well you can help yourself to anything while I get changed and ready real quick" and with that I was running up the stairs. I went to my room to grab something casual it wasn't really cold but I could use a light jacket so I put on some black skinny jeans, a Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt with my black converse similar to Fab's except mine are all black and his are black and white. I brushed my teeth and hair and ran back down stairs to see Fab playing with my dog Lincoln (he was a German Shepard) Lincoln was on his back while Fab was rubbing his belly and playing with him .
"I see you found Lincoln" I said through my giggles "He seems to like you, he doesn't let just anyone pet him"
"Wow well I feel special now do I" Fab said laughing while getting up from playing with Lincoln "So I was thinking since there isn't much around this area maybe we can go to the outskirts of town I've heard there is some stores around there"
"Well there isn't much I mean this whole city isn't much I mean i don't even know how this is considered a city it's like a town this actually used to be all just land full of apricot farms that's why one of the elementary schools is called Apricot Valley, but I mean yah there is Denny's and Starbucks out there it's like a 5 minute drive we can take my car if you would like"
"Yah sure that sounds fine we can get some lunch at Denny's and then maybe go somewhere if there is anything else" Fab said with a half smile
"Okay off to Denny's we go" I said pointing with one hand on my hip and the other pointing to the car like a super hero or something, god why am I so awkward. Well apparently that was funny because I can hear Fab laughing behind me after I locked my door.// We got to Denny's and got seating by a window seat so we can enjoy this nice day it looked like it was gonna rain and it was cloudy but I love the cold and rainy days I don't know why but it just brings me comfort.
"So is this lovely couple ready to order" the waiter who seems to be in her early 30s asked but at the same time Fab and me started to say "oh um hehe we aren't a couple"  "we are just friends" "I'm just showing him around since he's new and all" you could tell that both of us were flustered by the way we were both making those comments rapidly. Both of our faces were turning red while I looked outside the window Fab was looking at his hands. Which is weird because I would have thought he would act cool and collected but he seems as nervous as me strange...it's nothing it's not like he likes me or anything I'm not even pretty.
"My bad" the waiter said with a sly smile and a cocked eyebrow, she could tell we were both embarrassed "so are you two ready to order"
After looking at menu once more I said "Yah I think I will have just a club sandwich"
"I think I will just have a cheese burger" said Fab
"Okay I'll be back with your food soon" the lady said and went off leaving both of us in awkward silence...
