Chapter Two

Thunk*
My eyes bolted open but I didn't dare move. I laid completely still listening to the still air around my moon lit room. My eyes cross a moving object. I come to find it was only a piece of paper that got blown grabbing my pencil with it onto the floor. I had forgotten my mother had cracked all the windows in the house.
I sighed in relief and raised my hand onto my alarm clock raising my head to look at it. The clock read 1:17. I shook my head and turned off my alarm rolling back on my other side in the covers. I shut my eyes trying to concentrate on sleep. For an hour I laid in bed unable to sleep. Laying in still, moonlit, darkness. I sat up in frustration and threw the covers off me.
The hardwood floor creaked under me as I made my way through the dimly lit hallway into my office. I unlocked the door with the key that was hidden in one of the two decorative plants at the double doors.
Scratching my head I sat down in my chair and rested my head in the palm of my hand. I moaned in frustration as I looked at the clock reading 2:08. I looked around at the things in my office. Playing with various different things. Pens, pencils, throwing paper balls into the trash, novelty bobble heads. Anything that's in my office.
I stood up rather fast on my desk chair and accidentally made it roll back into my book shelf. One book fell from the shelf landing in the chair. 'Sexual Fantasies' fell from the shelf. Immediately I knew it was my fathers. I rolled my eyes and picked up the book. I wheeled the chair over to the desk sitting down throwing the book onto the desk. Repeatedly I glanced back and forth around the room and at the book.
"Can't be that interesting." I said to myself picking up the book.
I decided to read the first chapter of the book to myself. After I got on the third chapter I definitely was turned on. I never knew it could actually be this descriptive. I didn't do anything to myself. It wasn't that easy for me. But after a couple minutes I started feeling sleepy.

"Jesse! Jesse dear." My mother said shaking my shoulder lightly.
My eyes slowly flickered open in the bright sun lit house. Birds chirping could be heard throughout the house.
"Jesse. Wake up Hun. Breakfast is ready." With that being said my mother walked out the room and into the kitchen.
Slowly I stood up and stretched out my legs arms and back. A few cracks here and there. The normal for being a nineteen year old.
I stepped out of the office and into the kitchen. I smiled at my mother and took the plate outside onto our porch. My mother stayed inside and watched her cooking show.I sat down on the wooden swing seat munching on my pancakes and sausage. We lived in the middle of nowhere with four other houses in a small circle. I have never seen any of my neighbors but I'm sure they are nice.
All of the sudden stress took over and I felt a sharp stare. This time I could actually feel where it was coming from. I felt the stare from the house right across from mine. I saw a teen age boy through the window. His eyes peering through the blinds. We locked eyes for a couple minutes. Then all the sudden. I blinked and he was gone. The stare disappeared. He disappeared. Just stopped.
I swear I could call myself crazy. I had to blink a couple times and see if what happened was real. The boy looked my age maybe a year older. Tall, brown eyes, darkish hair. Couldn't see his clothes. Just his eyes and a little bit of his hair. But I could tell he was tall because of the part of the blind he pulled down. He looked handsome.
I would never know. I have just moved here. These people could be a bit stalkerish. They do live in the middle of nowhere and don't have any newcomers often. I understand but I would never keep my eyes on them. I don't think I would ever stalk anybody. Never know.
After I was done thinking, I walked into my house and put my plate in the sink. Just then there was a knock on the door.
"I'll get it." I told mother.
I walked to the door casually and opened it. There sat a dark blood red box. I picked up the box and stepped outside the door looking around. Nobody was outside the door or anything. There it goes. That sharp deep stare. I shook my head and ignored the stare. Silently I snook past my mom and down the hall into my room. I was thankful that she didn't ask me who was at the door.
Quickly my mind shifted to the blood red box that sat in my hands. Slowly I sat on my bed just staring at the box, imagining what it could contain. Very cautiously I pulled the red ribbon that dare hold the secret of the box. Pulling off the lid there sat a sharp, pointy, silver dagger on top of a half folded note. I pulled out the dagger and inspected it's beauty.
The dagger was very nice. Various designs were etched into the blade. After I was done admiring the dagger I set it down beside me and proceeded to pick up the note. I unfolded the note and read its contents,
' Welcome,
To our family. We are very happy to see a new potential member join us. Please accept this dagger, this dagger will guide your arm through gracefully for pure kills. We are looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you better. Because of this we have a specific location set for you to go. We would like you to meet us down by the river tomorrow night at midnight. Be sure to bring the dagger and be sure to show up. For if you do not complete this task, you will lose someone close. See you soon...'
I could swear my heart skipped a beat or two throughout reading this note. What do they mean by losing someone close? Are they serious or are they joking? Plus why at midnight!? That's the worst time ever! Tomorrow is a full moon too.
I have a bad feeling about this...
