Chapter Twenty Three

History

Cameron's POV-

It had been a tiring night. Constantly on my toes while dragging in Josef and Peirce. They looked dead.

"Cameron, why are-"

"Do you mind?" I said rudely to Jesse. For a moment he took a step back once I turned towards him. His hand had been out as if he was just about to touch my shoulder. I saw distraught in his eyes. I sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm just really stressed and everyone looks dead. We have been building this community for years and just seeing everyone like this puts me down. I'm scared I can't save them." I went quiet as I started to think of a bad memory. "Just like I couldn't save them..." I said to myself.

"It's alright. I shall leave you alone." With that said. He walked away back into the sanctuary.

I sighed once more in frustration and held Peirce comfortably and gently drug him into the sanctuary.

Jesse stood in the light stricken room as Sean, Joanna, and Josef were loosely strapped to the metal tables. I lifted up Peirce and laid him on the table strapping him in loosely.

"It's just so they don't fall. I know when I wake up after being drugged I roll around."

"Yea, good idea. Wouldn't need then getting a concussion." Jesse agreed.

About a week passed. I started to panic. None of them have been moving or waking up. They have a steady heart beat, but no drug would make you pass out this long. Would any?

"Jesse!" I yelled while gripping my head rapidly turning the pages of our drug glossary. "Get in here!" I shouted nervously.

"Cameron, you okay?" He asked.

"Does it look like it!?" I shifted from line to line, drug to drug, word to word, page... To... Page... And yet nothing had a long knock out time like this.

All I could find was liquid chloroform. It would work and make anyone pass out instantly once injected into the blood stream. But it would have to be the strongest drug I have ever seen.

"Is it too late to take blood samples?" Jesse asked.

I sighed. "Yes, but I had taken samples and nothing came up. Nothing... At all. Like they were never drugged to begin with. Completely untraceable."

"That's incredible. How would that be possible?" He asked.

"Well, Death Camus. It's a type of blue flower. It's rare and hard to find or get. It's only possible to get if you are a high official. Plus it could instantly kill someone or poison them for a substantial amount of time." A light went on inside my head. "Shit! Jesse! That's it." I made my way over to the large bookshelf and pulled off a thick book from its shelf. Skimming through it I found Death Camus and Chloroform. "It is possible to make a untraceable drug that could instantly knock someone out. But the effects would not be long term like this. It will only seen this way because it is a type of paralyzing agent. So that means... They aren't dead or passed out still. They are in a temporary comma... Or! They are paralyzed." I looked up at him smiling and felt a glisten of hope inside me.

"I'm glad to hear they are okay. Let me see those books and I can make something to help speed up their time in waking up."
