Chapter Five
Close Call
Jesses POV-
"What are you doing in here!" Joanna yelled at Cameron stomping into the room. "Where the hell is Pierce! I'm not dealing with you shits! I wanna know where that Jesse kid is!"
"Joanna what did he do to you!?" Cameron said.
"You better keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you! You stupid thief!"
"I am not stupid! You are a murderer! Killing innocent people! Taking away their live just to get what you want. By force..." Cameron protested.
"That's exactly what I'm gonna do with Jesse." Joanna threatened.
"Do what?" Josef came in and said.
"Your not laying a hand on him until Pierce comes." Cameron said.
"Who say I was gonna lay a hand on him?" Joanna said stupidly.
"If you touch him I swear-"
"You swear what Cameron!?" The wood creaked. I shifted my body over a little in the small hole as I found a big enough crack in the floor to look through. "You ain't gonna do shit to me! You don't have the balls too. Your a thief. You go in silently scared your gonna alarm the people you are taking junk from. After you get what you want you leave."
"That's not true! I go in, stealthy, quick as a mouse. Make no noise what so ever. If anyone figures me out I knock them out and set them somewhere. Once they wake up they have no clue of what's happened. After they wake up. I'm long gone. Never to be found."
"It's a cowards way out." Joanna said.
"Why you little-" Cameron lunged at Joanna but Josef tackled him into the wall holding him back from Joanna.
"Calm down! Stop Cameron!" Josef told Cameron.
Cameron calmed down and angrily pushed Josef off of him. Josef stepped back with a bit of force. Cameron let out a angered sigh. "You lay a hand on Jesse. I will kill you..." Josef said to Joanna.
"I know you would. But pip squeak over here wouldn't do a thing but use his fairy feet to steal my tooth brush." Joanna laughed "say Cameron." Joanna smirked while placing a hand on Cameron's head quickly throwing Cameron to the floor forcefully.
Cameron gasped in pain as he hit the floor full force almost. Me and Cameron's eyes met as he looked at me through the floor. He nodded and put a finger to his lips slyly.
"See. He can't even take a little hit. No wonder your a thief. You don't have what it takes to be a murderer." Joanna chuckled and kicked Cameron in the stomach.
"Was that necessary!" Josef yelled "before I fucking stab you! Get out of this damn room Joanna! NOW!" Josef snapped.
"Alright, alright! Geez. I was only messing around." Joanna said to Josef while leaving the room.
The door shut behind Joanna. "Josef," Cameron coughed catching his breath. "Jesse." He said while pointing to the heavy box directing Josef.
"Okay." Josef came over and slid multiple boxes away from the small hiding place.
The light of the room shone onto my body. Josef held out his hand. I took it firmly and he pulled me up.
"Thanks." I said to both Josef and Cameron.
Cameron stood up like he wasn't even in pain. "I really hate having to act in front of Joanna. Giving him the 'satisfaction' of taking me down."
"Hey. It's pierces orders. Once he comes back... We won't have to deal with him..." Josef replied.
