Chapter Four

Strange Place

Third Person limited
(Only thoughts and actions are told from the main character, Jesse, in a third person POV)

Jesse bobbed his head trying to lift it up. His vision was blurry and he felt very dizzy. Jesse groaned a little and tried moving his hand to his head. Almost immediately Jesse snapped out of blurry vision and his slight dizziness. His hands had been bound to a wooden chair. His state of mind changed rather quickly into panic mode.

Jesses eyes darted all around the dimly lit room. The room looked like a hotel room but still had the appearance of a house. A sweat started on his brow from being nervous. Soon after his body started to shake a little.

He writhed his hands in the tight rope from the  chair he was seated in.

"Sir, he's awake." Joanna said to Sean.

Sean nodded his head and looked at Jesse. That cold sharp stare started once more on him. Jesse started to shift uncomfortably in his chair as Sean approached him.

"Cameron!" Sean yelled making Jesse jump back in his chair "Get Jesse food and a drink. Maybe a blanket. He looks cold."

Cameron looked at Sean in a scared type way. Cameron stood there as Sean started to walk past him. Suddenly Sean stopped dead in his tracks right next to Cameron not facing him. With one quick swift move Cameron's ear was pressed against Sean's lips. Sean had placed his hand around Cameron's neck and under his chin, pulling his head close to him. Cameron stood there awkwardly not moving. "I suggest you start moving boy or there will be one less server here." Sean angrily tried whispering.

You could see a cold sweat come into Cameron's face instantly. Cameron rapidly shook his head and Sean let go almost throwing Cameron forward. Cameron's face filled with fear and hate. His face scrunched for a second and he heavily exhaled. Cameron whipped his body facing Jesse.

"Come on," Cameron said softly to Jesse "I bet your hungry. You've been knocked out for almost a day. Let's get food." Cameron unbound Jesse watching his every move being cautious.

Cameron managed to untie one of his hands. Jesse rolled his wrist while Cameron had just untangles the other.

"How are you feeling?" Cameron asked Jesse.

"I feel soar and I have a really bad stomach ache. It's not because I'm hungry."

"Yea that's the affects of the novacane mix with chloroform. Since you had drank it rather than it getting injected in you your stomachs will have that affect: because your hungry the pain is worse and because of that you are also dehydrated." Cameron explained.

Jesse stood there feeling shocked frightened and amazed. "How do you know that?"

"I was gonna go to college for med school. Joining this family also helped me learn because we use drugs alot for this type of stuff."

Jesse just nodded his head, scared to say anything. All he could do was follow Cameron through a couple hallways into the kitchen. Food had lined the walls of the decent sized pantry inside the large kitchen.

"Eat what you want. I don't know what you like. We have a lot here. Don't be afraid to stuff yourself. Your gonna be here for a while..." Cameron sighed.

Jesse didn't say anything and looked around the kitchen. Awkward silence filled the room.

"I'm not hungry." Jesse lied.

"I know your lying. Please, don't hesitate. If you would like I can pick something for you."

Jesse nodded his head while Cameron stood up, crossing his arms searching through food. An apple was tossed at Jesse.

"This should help you. But Sean will give you something else later to help you."

Nothing was said and silence took over again.

"Your quiet. I understand why but I'm not a person you should be scared of. Pierce, Joanna, and Josef. No so much of Josef but mainly Pierce and Sean. Joanna acts like he is tough and a know it all. Josef and I will stand up for you if needed."

"Where is Pierce?" Jesse asked cautiously.

"Pierce is one of our finest thieves. He goes out at night and steals from the nearby rich people. Yes we may live in the middle of nowhere but there are secret tunnels connected to our houses. Including yours." Cameron smirked at Jesse mischievously. "Nothing to worry about of course. The tunnels aren't complicated when you first go down. The tunnels are straight and all five houses tunnels lead into one small circular room. No gates just open doorways. Then a single tunnel leads out to other houses basements. Only Pierce knows where they all lead. He is the one who discovered them. Of course he labeled them all where they went and lead for us. But no one dares follow through them."

"Why not..."

"You ask a lot of questions..." Cameron's face was dead, his eyes glanced towards the floor and then at Jesse. "I like that." Cameron said tilting his head and smirking at Jesse. "Anyways, eat that Apple so you have something in you."

Jesse smiled and nodded. His question unanswered.

Jesses POV

"Where the hell is he!?" Joanna yelled "I'm gonna kill him!" Joanna's voice echoed through the hall. Cameron grasped my arm tightly and threw me up against a wall that hung out pushing his body against mine, pinning me.

"What are you-" Cameron pushed his hand against my mouth before I finished. He peaked his head around the corner. A loud large bang echoed through the hall sounding right next to Cameron and I.

"What's going on!" Josef said running into the room that Joanna went into.

"You need to stay hidden. Joanna is going on a rage. Since he doesn't know you that well he won't regret killing you." Cameron whispered to me while dragging me into a room.

I started shaking as Cameron forcefully pushed me into a hole hidden under a large heavy box. "Cameron!" Jesse yelled silently to him.

Cameron put his finger to his lips and pushed the large box over the hole along with a few smaller ones. The scraping of the cardboard on the floor made him nervous.
