Chapter Nineteen
Confessions
Cameron's POV-
I guided Jesse into the room I spared for him by his side lightly gripping. Jesse avoided eye contact with me so I raised my eyebrow and pulled him closer to me so both our hips were touching. His fingers twitched a little and he continued to avoid eye contact. I sighed and pushed him into the room with a bit of force.
"Why can't you just let me go?" He asked before I closed the door.
"Because we know what your capable of."
"Heh, yea... Capable of what?" He turned to face me.
I took a step into the room and closed the door lightly.
"Capable of clearing this house of any life and escaping by yourself." I bit the inside of my lip and held my hands behind my back.
"Like, killing everyone? I-including you?"
"Yes." I maintained to keep a strait and serious face not letting any of my fear of death show.
Jesse just stood there and stared at me like I just spoke a different language. "No, I'm not going to kill you."
"So you are agreeing to kill everyone but me?"
"Yes." His hand clenched at his side as the other followed suit. "I refuse to kill you. I would kill myself before I would dare pull the trigger on you."
"And why is that?" I asked him.
"Because it is the way I would do it."
"Why spare me?" Slightly turning my head and raising my brow.
"Your the only one that has been good to me Cameron." Sincerity in his voice.
"I still must die by your hand. No matter the time my death will be because of you." I straitened my head and with the most mono toned serious face I could make I said "I don't care how you do it... When you do it... Or if I suffer or not... It must be done." I pulled out the gun from my side and held it out towards him. He shook his head no and continued to stand there. Slowly he made his way towards me extending his hand. Grasping the gun he pulled it away from my fingers and put it under his mattress.
"I will kill you when you are suffering enough." Jesse said.
His words made me ponder a bit but I nodded and folded my hands behind my back once more. I looked at the ground and without saying a word I turned and placed my hand on the door handle.
"C-Cameron." I heard his faint voice call out.
I turned around to see his face right in front of mine. Suddenly I found our lips attached together as his hand forcefully shoved my head into his. At first I was surprised but then immediately kissed back. His other hand was placed on my hip. I put my hand on his elbow pulling forward making him grasp my hip more and my other hand was placed on the side of his face.
The kiss was hot and bulky almost. Realizing what I was doing I suddenly pushed away and immediately exited the room closing the door locking it. I stood outside the door my hand still on the freshly locked handle. I took a deep breath and wiped my lip walking away.
I hated leaving like that but I have to make sure he killed everyone in this house. It was up to him if he was going to get rid of me. But once he has emptied this house then I will reward him with something. Anything he would like.
"Cameron..." I heard Jesses voice. I turned around towards his door. "I'm hungry..." He said through the old wood. I made my way down the steps and and walked into the main room where the last two guards stood.
"I need food." I told them walking into the storage where we kept fresh food.
"Boss, there are fresh fruits in the cooler."
I nodded my head and smiled at them. They smiled back and I opened the cooler grabbing the small plastic container of strawberries and some grapes. Steadily I made my way up the steps and unlocked Jesses door opening it. His eyes widened and he stood from his bed. I lightly put my hand on his chest and sat him back down on the bed. Setting the food in front of him, without a word, I left the room and locked the door on my way out. Purposely I dropped the key just before I exited.
I walked down the steps acting like nothing happened and continued with my day. But soon if had became nightfall. The light gray clouds roamed the sky as the stars appeared around the crescent moon. The two guards were asleep in the living room at the bottom of the step and I was out on the porch.
I patiently waited to hear gun shot echo through the house. I know it won't be long but I waited for another hour before entering the house. Slowly the floor creaked under my feet. The guards were not awake and we're still sleeping. I sighed in disappointment as I made my way to the third couch in the living room.
Stopping in my tracks my foot stepped in a wet warm spot on the hard wood. Slowly I looked down and saw a dark puddle. I smiled sickly and looked at the guards a little closer. They had been stabbed. A silent melee kill. It was new for him but he did a good job of keeping quiet while killing these light sleepers. I rolled my eyes playfully and then cleaned up the mess of the bodies to make it look like nothing happened. Dragging them out the door into the woods and scrubbing the floors, I quietly made my way up the steps and opened Jesses door.
Slowly I closed the door behind me and stepped into the room. Jesse had been laying on the floor passed out with his hands and his shirt all bloody. A knife, the end covered with blood, was a large kitchen blade. I smiled and shook my head. "Sneaky bastard" I whispered to myself.
All of the sudden Jesse stood up. I took a step back as he stood strongly pointing the knife at me. My heart started racing but I tried hiding the fear that kept building in me. I asked myself so many questions. Am I gonna die right here? Is this it? Will he actually kill me?
All these questions stirred in my head in a matter of seconds. Very slowly Jessie rubbed his eyes tiredly. He seemed so out of it. He slumped to the ground steadily and laid back down riling onto his side. I let out a breath I just noticed I had been holding and kneeled next to him. Rather quietly I reached my arm over him and grabbed the knife from his hand. He groaned a bit but didn't move or wake up.
Quietly and swiftly I left the room and made my way down the steps into the kitchen. I washed the bloodied knife and dried it off placing it back where it belonged.
"Cameron?" I heard Jesse say.
I laughed to myself and turned my head to face him. "Yes?"
"I-I'm a monster..." He said with discouragement.
"No, you are not. You are a natural born killer. Don't doubt yourself. We know you have killed before this. We found that out and you just don't like to mention it. You don't want to believe it ever happened. Nope, you want to completely obliterate that thought from your head." I paused. "You know your good at it too. You know what your doing. And don't deny it." I paused once more as he stood there staring at the ground. "Jesse..." He looked up at me. " go get some rest." I told him. He nodded his head and slowly made his way up the steps. I followed not far behind him and went into the room right next to his.
Flipping down onto the bed I covered myself and waited a hour before falling asleep.
