Chapter Twenty Two
Painful Training
Picture: Jesse
Cameron's POV-
"Jesse." I said knocking on his door. "Time for training."
There was a long pause. I lifted my eyebrow and shrugged my shoulders. "Be out in five." I said turning to walk away. The doors suddenly swung open and Jesses hand gripped the back of my shirt. Forcefully he threw me by my shirt into his room and shut the door. I staggered to my feet and fixed my shirt. "What the hell Jesse!" I looked up at him to see he was only in his boxers.
"Look, I know what happened! At the house! I wanna know. I just now remember as I was looking out the window."
"That window just shows dirt with worms wiggling around in it..."
"I know that."
"What house?" I asked. Obviously I knew what he was talking about.
"Don't play dumb with me. I remember the damn house. I remember shooting that old man in the head, killing the two guards, brutally murdering the last two as they slept." He said with a bit of anger. "I'm not dumb!" He shouted.
"Well, from the looks of things you already know what happened in that house." I smirked.
"Yea... I also remember that kiss." Jesse said being a bit intentionally loud.
Quickly my eyes shot open and I dove towards him. My hand wrapped around his mouth as the other wrapped under his arm and around half his neck. "Shhhh, not so loud would ya!" I yelled at him whispering. "Where are you getting at! What do you want!" I asked removing my hand slowly from his mouth.
"I don't want anything!" He said pushing away from me. "I just want a day of doing nothing with you."
I sat there in confusion. "I wouldn't mind that" I smirked. Slowly I stood to my feet as the old hardwood floor creaked beneath me. "Just keep your voice down about that kiss." I pleaded.
"I will. I just wanted to get your attention." Jesse smirked devilishly.
"Oh, that's dirty." I squinted my eyes and smiled. I glanced down over him. "Be out in five." I said walking towards the door. "Also, get some clothes on." I taunted.
Jesse smiled with his face a shade of pink. Slowly I opened the door and closed it behind me. Couple minutes later he came out and avoided eye contact with me while just walking past me as if nothing happened. I raised my eyebrow and just followed him.
Jesse walked beside me then as we entered the training room. I walked over to the wall and plucked a wooden battle sword off the wall and threw it towards him. He quickly reacted and spun the sword on his hand catching it. I smiled as he did the well done trick and pulled off a wooden battle sword for myself. I stepped onto the blue mat and stood strait and tall with the sword at my side in position. He held his out in front of him sideways with one hand pushing on the side of the blade for stability and held the handle with the other.
Jesse smirked and he did a perfect step forward swinging the wood at my legs. Quickly I jumped, landed, and swung my arm. Quickly he reacted and blocked my sword. I stumbled back from his counter and spun in a circle working my wooden sword and the back of his leg. Successfully I slashed behind his knee and made him kneel before me. He tried to face me and tried whipping his sword at my ankle. I blocked his sword once more hitting it with enough force knocking it out of his grip. Before he could go dive for his sword I pushed mine firmly against his neck. He froze where he was and looked up at me without moving his head.
I smirked and pulled away from him going back to my starting position. "Again." I said relieving my sword at my side.
Jesse sighed and nodded as he stood, returning to his starting position. This time I made the first step and swung my sword to the left. Slightly I knocked him off but he quickly countered and slammed his wood against mine while pushing forward, knocking me back. I caught my balance rather quickly and smoothly dodged one of his sudden attacks. After I fully caught my balance I stood facing him with my sword pointed out at him. My breathing hardened slightly as I stepped, spun, ducked, and thrusted at his legs. Quickly he jumped and slammed his sword down on mine pinning it in the ground. My eyes widened as he slashed at my side making me fall over.
Shit! I thought. Jesse jumped on top of me and raised his sword high and thrusted down. Quickly I straightened my sword balancing it with one hand at each end. He forcefully pushed down with all his might on the middle of my word trying to hit me. I growled to myself as I tried to outweigh his strength. My sword came closer and closer to my face as he pushed down harder. My arms started to wear out. Once he noticed my strength was nearly gone he pushed hit sword under mind and flung it out of my hands. Then with is sword he stabbed strait down with the tip at my face. Quickly I moved my head to the right and looked up at him.
"Heh, got ya." He said while slowly moving off me holding out his hand.
I let out a breath I found I was holding and grabbed his hand as he lifted me to my feet. "I thought you were gonna stab me" I nervously chuckled.
"Well, we are allowed to spill blood here." He smiled returning to his corner.
Once again we stood. Our eyes were locked onto one another's. I took a deep breath and stepped forward spinning while flinging my arm towards his side. He reacted just in time and spun his sword around mine throwing my arm away. Suddenly he cracked the side of my back. I winced in pain but quickly regained my posture and blocked his sudden strike. I looked at him and his face was straight with a sullen smirk. I straightened myself. My feet circled as I turned quick. Jesse jumped back and went to go strike. I quickly countered his move and pushed him with my sword. He fell on his back.
Without hesitation I took the opportunity and smashed my sword down next to him. He had moved out of the way and rolled to his feet. He swung, I ducked, I swung, he jumped. Our wooden swords kept clashing together. We both countered one another's move better then the last. Quickly we gained speed. I was used to speed, not going slow. The rising pace started to throw Jesse off.
I cracked a smile while countering one of his moves suddenly changing style. I swung my sword up hitting the sword out of his fingers. Our eyes locked for a second and he dove for the wood. Quickly without hesitation I took the chance once again but this time I wasn't missing. My swung my sword in a circle and cracked it down on his back. He turned over in pain with his arm on his spine. With his other hand he gripped his sword and flung it at my leg hitting my knee.
I dropped but faltered back to my feet. I backed off as Jesse slowly stood to his feet. He tried standing strait but had his back slumped. My leg almost gave out as I stepped forward, Jesse took a step back. Slowly yet quickly I lunged forward and hit his sword out of his hand. I pinned him against the wall with my body against his and the swords edge at his throat. He slightly winced in pain while biting his lip.
"I like it when you bite your lip like that." He swallowed hard as I said that and slowly released his lip. I noticed what I just had said. "Sorry." Slowly I stepped back pulling away from him.
Jesse caught his breath and straightened his back. "You got me good." He said.
I chuckled and out my sword back in the wall. "You got me a few times. You're getting better." I said picking up the sword I flung from his hands and snapping on the wall.
"Thanks." He said.
"Next time we will work on hand to hand." I heard him take a deep breath.
"Okay."
"You'll be fine." I encouraged.
