Chapter Twenty Nine

Grief

Joanna's POV

Great... now Jesse hates me. Why couldn't he just listen to me! Cameron was a lowlife piece of shit. I'd have to say the best part was revenge... Even the fact that nobody can touch me or punish me because of what I did to Cameron. Heh, definitely good. Just wait till Josef finds out too. They were best friends. I'm sure that I will be killed for this. That's alright. I know Josef will be the one to kill me. Jesse couldn't find his own guts to be able to kill me. Once Josef takes me out... Sean will discard of Josef for me. Then Pierce will get rid of Sean for killing his little boy toy. Then it will only be Jesse and Pierce. That should be interesting.

Pierces POV

The hard wooden door creaked open as I gently pushed the handle down. I stepped out of my office and shut the door locking it. Turning around I shoved my keys back into my pocket starting to walk down the hall. I double taked for a second. I saw Jesse leaning against the wall on the floor clenching his chest. I began to worry and made my way towards him.

"Jesse?..." I said getting closer and closer to him. He didn't move... as I got closer and closer to him I saw he was soaked in blood. My eyes widened and I grabbed him pulling him into me. "Jesse!" I started to freak out as Jesse just sat there. His eyes fluttered and he passed out. I picked him up bridal style and ran down the hall towards Sean's room. The door was cracked so I kicked it open.

"Pierce, what the-" his expression changed. Quickly he stood from his desk and took off his reading glasses. He grabbed Jesse from my arms and sat him down on the wood chair he had. "Pierce! What the hell happened!" He turned yelling at me.

"I-I don't know," I said shaking while closing and locking his door. "I walked down the hall and saw him against wall clutching his chest. He covered in blood!" My voice shook.

"Thanks captain obvious I fucking figured that out." He said cockily.

"Now you listen here-"

"No, you're going to listen. If this boy dies, it's going to be a disaster! Now go get me the scissors." I bit back my tongue and scavenged for the scissors handing them to him.

He tied a scarf around his face and cut off Jesses shirt examining him. Patiently I sat there observing his work carefully. Sean looked around pulling Jesses shirt off to look for marks. Sean looked baffled as he turned Jesse to his sides and back. Worriedly he looked up at me. "Pierce... this isn't Jesses blood..."

My eyes widened. "What do you mean?" I said confused.

"What do you mean!? What do you mean, 'what do you mean?'," he stood up pushing the chair back and stood there looking at me like I was stupid. "Did I fucking stutter!? That's not Jesses blood!" He yelled at me. "He'll be fine. But we need to find out what happened." Calmly he advised.

"Alright. Ask around. Maybe Josef knows. He's usually listening in." I directed.

"Yes, sir." With that said he unlocked the door and walked out. I caught the door before he went to go close it and followed behind him.

As we started walking my mind trailed away but Sean quickly pulled me out of it. "Hey, Joanna," I looked up and saw Joanna wiping off his hands. "Do you know what happened to Jesse?" Sean asked casually.

He looked confused and smiled weakly shaking his head. "Last time I saw him he was in Cameron's room." Josef came down the hall and Joanna continued making his way down to wherever. "Josef, do you know what happened to Jesse?" Sean asked him.

"I have no clue. I agree with Joanna though. I saw him in Cameron's room last. Why do you ask?" Josef said.

I knew it wasn't normal for us to be asking around for people. We usually kept a close eye. "I just haven't seen him at all. I also have a contract for him. That's all," I said clearly lying, but not clearly enough to him. "Thanks."

Josef went his separate way but he didn't seem right. Sean kept pulling me forward and we made our way to Cameron's room. It seemed like forever getting to his room for some odd reason. But Sean didn't look right. He looked back at me and motioned me to go first. I nodded and placed my hand on the handle and pushed down walking in. The fire was going but dying slowly. The lightly smoke filled room clouded the air tinting it a light grey. I looked back at Sean and told him to turn on the lights. Instantly we saw almost dried blood streaming down the side of Cameron's bed. My eyes widened and I ran towards him. "Cameron!" I yelled. Quickly I rolled him over to face me. His entire body a light pink to white color.

My eyes started watering. Beside Sean, Cameron had been the first member. Not to mention the best... how could anyone even manage to kill him?... they really had to have done something to him to even get close. But who would want to kill Cameron?...

Tears streamed down my face. Sean put his hand on my shoulder. I knew he didn't know what to do. This was the first time he's ever seen me cry. I laid my head against his hand for a moment and gently picked Cameron up carrying him out. Sean followed closely behind me and sadly shut the door looking in. I wiped the tears off my face and continued down the hall. Ahead I heard banging and then a crash.

"What the hell was that!?" Sean yelled.

I chucked my head forward telling him to go investigate. He nodded his head and started running up the hall.

I watched him run away and once he turned the corner I looked down at Cameron. I shook my head and held him tighter. "I'm sorry..."
