Chapter 17
Melanie's POV
Hiding out in Lightning's stall hasn't been in vain, it actually made our trust for each other stronger. it has been so nice to get away from the dramas of the world and just relax with Lightning. I know I will have to come out soo- Lightning's body language suddenly goes tense and she backs into the corner. Not a moment too soon, Emma's head pops through the stall door and I let out a breath. She looks at Lightning, sighs, then turns her head to me.
"I know you have been spending a lot of time in here with Lightning, and while that is benefiting her, I think you should try and get her out of her comfort zone a little. Start off with something small, like leading her around in a halter or taking her outside and just sitting with her. But you are doing really well with her, now I know why we got her, I can see that you'll be able to help each other." Smiling, she adds, "I'd better get going now, but I want you to take what I said into consideration."
Looking up with a small smile, I reply, "I will, thank you, Emma."
"You're welcome." And just as soon as she appeared, she was gone, letting Lightning relax and leaving me to ponder on what she had said.
"How about that, Lightning?" I coo. Pricking her ears and lifting her head, she nickers at me.
"Why do people even bother with guys if they can have horses, eh?" Nodding her head, she whinnies at me, as if she agrees.
"You and me both, Lightning," I chuckle, "You and me both."
A/N: sorry this is so belated, there have been a lot of things going on lately and I didn't know what to write for a while but here is another chapter! I feel like my writing has gotten so much better since the last chapter xD Melanie hasn't ridden Lightning in a while, when do you think she'll ride her next?
Is there anyone still following the lives of Jared and Melanie?
Please tell me what you think!
As always, please leave votes and comment if you like it and I'll see you next time!

RomanceWe were moving again. I really don't like moving. This time is further than any before. I'm nearly used to it. I mean we have done it so often I've lost count. Well, anyway, my name is Melanie and I am 16. I LOVE horseriding but I've never stayed in...
