Melanie's POV

"Lightning."

"That suits her so much." Jared responds. I smile, I'm beginning to really love this place! I get off Lightning and walk over to a small jump, with her following me. She looks at it wide-eyed at first but relaxes after a while. I walk over the jump and she follows.

After a while, I go back to the mounting block and get on her back. I start riding around the arena in walk, trot and canter. Her gaits are so smooth!

When she is ready, I take her over the jump we did before. She hesitates a little but goes over it no worries.

After a few more, I walk her back to Jared.

"She's really good," he says, "She looks beautiful doing both jumping and flat work."

"She feels beautiful!" I answer, "I just don't get how such a beautiful horse could get so abused."

"It's not right," he says, "Um, Melanie, I was wondering if-"

"What are you doing on her?!" Mandy comes in. Lightning freaks out again, but Melanie manages to stay on and calm her down. I gesture to Mandy to lower her voice. "Mandy, you should have seen her. Melanie and Lightning have an amazing bond they formed instantly, like it was meant to be, and once Lightning got over her fears, she was really good!" I tell her.

"Yeah! I think she was schooled really well then was sold to an abusive home." I add.

"Lightning? If that's a name you came up with, it suites her! And could you show me how well she goes?" Mandy replies.

"Sure!" I say. I do a basic dressage test on her, then move onto a few jumps. When I finish, I walk Lightning back to Jared and Mandy.

"I see what you mean. She has lovely movements and an amazing jump but most of all she listens to you. I really hope you keep coming back here, Melanie. We could use you help with her, if not a possibility that you could buy her." Mandy beams.

Is she for real? I could buy Lightning?
