Wishes

Chapter 18

Wind and rain brushed against my face making my hair whip by and the coldness seep into my bones. My eyes fluttered open showing the area surrounding me and the rope that held onto me until the moment it broke. Pushing myself up I felt myself glide into a standing position as I looked closer at the area around me. When I turned to look around I saw people rushing around trying to hold on to the course or climbing off the course onto the safe ground. My eyes wandered around more at the site and found myself staring at the rope threads dangling meters above me and smoke coming from the distant. Even on my tippy toes I couldn't see where the smoke was coming from, but I knew it wasn't good making a feeling of dread enter my stomach.

Shouting from everywhere filled my ears making me fall to my knees clutching my ears as the shouting grew louder as I squeezed my eyes shut hoping it would help.

"Stop!" I screamed as the noise got louder and louder just before a pressure fell onto my chest and it came on and off making me wonder what was happening. Suddenly the pain and shouting went away only leaving sirens to echo in the distant making me open my eyes to only stare at the ground. What I saw next shocked me as I sat staring at my favorite jeans lying on the ground, but what was worst was legs filled out the jeans. Yet with that I found myself standing after trying to think what happened. As I stood standing I looked back at the ground seeing legs, but I found my arms were just a cluster of air together like a hologram. I felt myself start to shake seeing my arms just bits of air and legs unmoving on the ground which only made me turn to see where the legs connected to.

My breath caught in my throat at what laid before me making me take a few shaky steps back while I fought in my mind what happened. Tears started to fill my eyes whilst I stared at myself lying on the ground unmoving. My eyes were still open staring off into space with my violet eyes haunting me while a dark crimson liquid oozed out of my head making me want to curl up and cry at the site. Trails of tear lead down my face from staring at the site of my dead body as shouting from somewhere echoed with the sirens suddenly closer. Turning my head I found Toby running towards me with a bewildered look whilst people stood back holding each other while tears of their own leaked out.

Suddenly turning away from the grief and sadness of the crowd I found myself staring at my lifeless body again as Toby kneeled beside me trying to shake me awake, but not working only ending in Toby holding me in a hug crying out for something.

All I could was stand there and watch Toby cry for help before tears started to seep down his face just as a pair of guys came rushing over checking me over. I felt useless watching it all unravel before me as the medics pulled me onto a gurney to roll me into the ambulance to get me away from this mess whilst Toby hopped in with the medics to drive me to a hospital.

Falling to the ground I pulled my knees up against my chest hugging burying my face into them whilst I cried from what just happened and how everything has changed from a happy moment to my death. All of a sudden I feel a hand placed on my shoulder making me look up to the one person I wanted to see right now. His light brown hair swayed in the wind making his clothes cling to him whilst a small but sad smile played onto his lips before I looked into his dark green eyes.

"Dad" I whispered as more tears leaked out of their hiding spots before I slowly got up and hugged him for dear life clinging to him afraid he would leave once I let go. Even hugging him I felt the world fade around me and what just happened leaving my mind only to bringing back memories. Looking up at him I could feel the tears poor down my eyes at him standing right before me making me happy to have him with me, but I felt like a piece of me was missing.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" I whispered staring at his eyes just as I took a step back still confused at what just happened and how he was here. His smile suddenly changed to a frown making everything click in my brain only wanting him to say it.
