10. Meet Albert

Megan POV

That night I had a weird dream.

I was riding a huge monkey as it jumped from branch to branch in a forest. Somehow I knew the monkey's name was Albert. Albert had clean brown fur and was very friendly.

Albert took me to a huge clearing where I met hundreds of other monkeys, I couldn't have remembered all their names if I tried. They made me their queen for some reason I didn't know.

One day some people attacked, they were a bunch of witches and wizards. They were wearing black cloaks and masks so I couldn't see their faces. Bursts of green light shot everywhere and soon all the monkeys were dead. I heard a high cold laugh and then all the people vanished leaving me to the darkness of the forest.

I lay on the forest floor silently mourning the losses of my friends. I rolled over and saw Albert lying dead beside me. That was the final straw.

"No! Not Albert! Not Albert!" I screamed as I woke up.

I leapt up and quickly put on my robes. I dashed off to breakfast.

I was panting when I reached the Great Hall and walked slowly over to the Gryffindor's table.

I sat down next to Harry and Ron, who were up far earlier than they usually were.

"Why are you two up so early?" I said chirpily.

"We need to tell you something, it's really important." said Ron.

"Okay then, what is it. Oh it's not about the suits of armor kicking people is it?"

"Huh, what are you on about, the suits of armor are kicking people?!" gasped Ron.

"Never mind, what were you going to say?"

Harry gave me a creepy knowing look before he spoke, "Megan, last night we went to Hagrid's hut after classes and-"

"I don't see what is important about you going to Hagrid's."

"Shush!" cried Ron.

I rolled my eyes and turned back to Harry.

"As I was saying, we went to Hagrid's and he had a newspaper. I saw that it had a story about that break-in at Gringotts. The break-in happened on the 31st of July, the day we were there. It said the vault they tried to break into was emptied earlier that day. Hagrid emptied vault seven hundred and thirteen that day, what if that was the vault that the people tried to rob?"

Damn, that was kinda logical, now I have to be logical too.

"Harry, don't be ridiculous. What would some thieves want with that grubby little package Hagrid took? It looked worthless."

"Yeah, I guess you're right," Harry said, although he didn't look convinced.

"Hey," said Ron. "I saw a note on the notice board-"

"That is where you would see a note Ron." I frowned and shook my head.

Ron glared at me. "The note said flying lessons will start on Thursday and we'll have them with the Slytherins."

"Yay flying! Wait Slytherins? Nooooo! Save me someone, save me."

"Ron groaned, "What is wrong with you?"

"I'm sad that the evil people killed Albert. He was a nice monkey, he never did anything to them."

"What?! Who the heck is Albert?"

"Don't be mean Albert was my friend. He was an awesome monkey and then they killed him!" I burst into tears.
