4. Hidden Fortune

Megan POV

I Grabbed ahold of McGonagall's arm and held on tightly. Suddenly everything vanished and was replaced by blackness. I felt like I was being squeezed through pipes when as suddenly as it had started it stopped.

I glanced around noticing we were on a street but there weren't any cars just lots of people walking around doing their shopping.

"Oh, hello Hagrid. You wouldn't mind taking Megan to do her school shopping as well would you?"

I turned around wondering who Hagrid was. I was startled when I saw a giant of a man at least eight foot tall with black hair and a wild black beard. He was wearing a brown coat and huge black boots.

That was when I noticed the boy next to him. I thought he looked like someone I knew and I don't know many people. He was quite thin and not overly tall. He was wearing baggy second hand clothes and a pair of round rimmed glasses. He had messy black hair and green eyes. Finally he had a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead. I realized who he looked like, he looked like me.

My mouth gaped open as I looked at the boy. I looked back at the giant man, Hagrid, who was staring at me.

"Megan Potter!" he gasped "You're Megan Potter. I thought you were dead we all did, you did vanish after all."

I glanced back at the boy as he said sounding confused "Hello Megan my name is Harry, Harry Potter."

His words sunk in and I stared at him shocked we didn't only look similar but we both had the same last name. I was sure this wasn't some odd coincidence there was some connection between us and decided I sure as hell was going to find out what.

I turned to look at McGonagall and made a stab in the dark "You never told me I had a twin brother."

She frowned at me "I wasn't going to, not today anyway."

"Why not?" I asked her confused. I had the right to know that I had a twin brother.

"You only found out magic existed today so I wasn't going to just blurt out that you have a twin brother. Then you would have wanted to know why you two were separated and no one really knows why, but it doesn't matter right now. Hagrid can you explain what happened that night to them, after you've finished your shopping?"

Hagrid gulped, obviously his memory of 'that night' wasn't a good one. "Alright professor," he sighed.

McGonagall smiled at him "Thank you Hagrid. Well I better be off. I'll see you at Hogwarts." She apparated before anyone could say goodbye.

"Who's she?" Harry asked "And how did she do that?"

"Tha's Professor McGonagall and she just apparated," Hagrid replied.

"By the way Harry apparating isn't very fun, makes you feel all funny. That's how we got here," I said smiling to him. I still couldn't believe I had a brother. A twin brother to be exact.

Hagrid then turned to me "I didn' introduce myself now did I. I am Rebeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. We need to get your money so that you can buy what you need. There's only one place to go, Gringotts."

We all fell silent me and Harry both awestruck by everything we went past. There were many shops selling all sorts of things like potion ingredients, robes, wands, books, pets and even flying broomsticks.

"Gringotts," said Hagrid.

We had reached the end of the street and in front of us was the largest building I had ever seen,it towered over all of the little shops. It was a snow-white colour and had burnished bronze doors. Beside the doors, one on each side, stood an odd creature with pale green skin, a long nose and very long fingers and toes. The creatures wore a uniform of scarlet and gold.
