30. Plotting away
Megan POV
I'd been practicing the three unforgivable curses for a month or so now and I could cast all of them correctly. I'd also spent more time practicing how to resist the imperius curse and even the Cruciatus curse. I was now a master at throwing them off.
I felt sick each lesson as I watched mice and then cats and finally large wolves do silly things and then writhe in pain and finally fall down dead.
I had moved onto larger animals as got better at casting the spells.
I hadn't seen Victoria since she bashed me. I couldn't help wonder what had happened to her and where she was. Not that I was complaining.
Currently Damon sat in front of me on a chair while I sat on the edge of my bed.
My leg had slowly began to heal. Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night after some nightmare and I wouldn't be able to feel it at all. Other times it would burn with pain.
At the moment though I wasn't in pain unless I moved it. I sat as still as possible.
"Today we're going to try something different," Damon said. "Give me your wand."
I blinked at him before hesitantly handing over my wand. He put it down beside him.
"Cast a spell."
He just took my wand. How was I supposed to do that?
"I can't."
"Yes you can," he said in a bored voice. "It's called wandless magic. Now cast a spell."
Feeling stupid I pointed my finger at a corked flask of my pain relieving potion and said "Accio."
Nothing happened.
"Try again. You need to mean it, really try, believe that it will work."
I pointed my finger at the flask again. I imagined it zooming towards me. 'Come on you can do this I thought.' although I felt like a fool.
"Accio."
I was startled when it whizzed toward me. I grabbed it and placed it on my bedside table.
Damon looked shocked.
"I didn't think you would get it so quickly, it's really tough magic," he murmured to himself.
"He told me not to underestimate her," he grunted to himself. I pretended not to hear.
Damon lobbed my wand to me again.
"Now try wordless magic. Think the spell in your head and try cast it. If you get that then try doing wordless, wandless magic. I'll see how your doing tomorrow."
I watched as he walked across the room and then up the steps and out the door.
Click!
I sighed I'd been hoping for ages that he would forget to lock the door or that he wouldn't shut it properly. Then maybe I would have a chance to escape.
I sat still and then pointed my wand at the chair Damon had vacated. 'Wingardium Leviosar.' I thought. The chair wouldn't move.
I sat for ages trying to levitate the chair using my mind. That made it sound like I'm telepathic, or is it telekinetic? I don't know tele-something.
A couple hours later I sat staring at the chair still. 'Wingardium Leviosa!' I thought.
The chair moved it lifted up a bit and then fell back down.
Excited I tried again.
The chair lifted up again. I managed to move it about a meter when it fell back down.
I continued practicing wordless magic. This would be great to use when I escaped.
***~***~***
It took me over two days to master wandless, wordless magic but I kept it a secret. I pretended that I couldn't even do wordless magic with a wand. That way I could take Damon by surprise when I tried to escape.
With this sudden hope I began to plan my escape.
I thought out all the possibilities.
My first idea was to use the imperius curse on Damon and get him to tell me if Victoria was in the house. If she was I would make him distract her while I escaped.
I soon realized the problem with that plan. Damon had taught me how to fight off the imperius curse so surely he would be able too as well.
I had already packed some necessities away in my enchanted bag. The good thing was I found that no matter how much stuff I put inside it it stayed extremely light.
I had brewed up several potions in secret. I'd found the recipes in various books in my room. I made a potion to get rid of hunger. I also made potions to relieve my pain, if I was going to running I would need them. I made some weird potion that would stop me from needing to sleep for a while.
As well as the potions I had packed some clothes, a few spell books and some other bits and pieces.
I was happy because I might be able to use my metamorphmagus abilities to disguise myself once I'd gotten out. That was my main problem, the getting out part.
I'd been researching spells and had learnt shield charms and some other protective spells. I was constantly practicing curses and jinxes I could shoot at them while escaping.
I thought that I would have the element of surprise with my wordless, wandless magic. Now I just needed to think up the perfect plan to go with all my preparations.
