26. Something's not quite right...

Megan POV

I woke up the next morning and I felt exhausted. It was really strange, I felt like I hadn't slept at all.

I got up, I was wide awake now there was no way I'd be able to sleep, no matter how tired I was. I looked at the clock it was 6:30.

I walked over to the bookshelf along the side wall. I looked at the titles on the books. All of them sounded Dark and boring.

I groaned, I had nothing to do. I sat in an armchair by the fire. I was warm and comfortable, before I knew it I was falling asleep.

***~***~***

I woke up in my bed and rolled over I felt well rested. The light from my clock caught my eye so I looked at it to check the time.

I sat bolt upright. I couldn't believe it, had I really slept until 4 in the afternoon?

I heard the door click open.

"Ah so the sleepy head is awake," chuckled Damon. "I brought you down your breakfast this morning and found you sleeping in an armchair so I put you back in your bed. That would have been at around 8:30, you've been asleep ever since."

My stomach growled at his mention of breakfast. It had been ages since my last meal.

"Sounds like your hungry, well too bad you'll just have to wait until tea time." With a laugh Damon turned and left the room.

Damn it! Why did I have to sleep for so long?

Suddenly I remembered my dream last night. I remembered waking up after it feeling really tired. Was all this because of that strange dream?

***~***~***

Two nights had passed since my dream and I hadn't had another one. In a way I was disappointed, if the dreams were real then I could use them somehow to see how my friends were. Then in another way I was relieved, enough weird things had happened lately that I wasn't sure I would cope with these strange dreams as well, especially if they made me sleep all day.

The past two days were awful I spent most of my time having 'Dark Arts' lessons. I had learned a few more spells and even started learning about how to brew deadly poisons.

Today I was hoping I would get a break. I didn't feel like potion making or casting nasty curses at mannequins.

I was now reading a book about counter-curses, ways to reverse the effects of the curses I was being taught.

I'd had one of my lessons with Victoria. She had been teaching me a curse to knock people out 'Stupefy'. That day she seemed to be in a particularly bad mood. She got even angrier when she realized that just by casting it on a mannequin she couldn't tell if I was casting it right.

At the moment I was on a page about the counter-curse for Stupefy, Reenervate.

The door flew open interrupting my reading.

"The Dark Lord is coming tonight, he wants to spend New Years with you. I have no idea why." Victoria snarled at me before storming back out, slamming the door behind her.

It was New Years Eve already!

I sighed but started to get ready. It was already 5 in the afternoon and who knew what time Voldemort would turn up.

I put on a pair of jeans, a short sleeved blue top that had white spots on it and a pair of black Vans. I brushed my hair and left it flowing straight down my back.

Then I went back to my reading. Now I was ready for whenever he turned up.

***~***~***

A couple of hours passed before the door was opened again.

"Good you're ready," snarled Victoria. "Well come on then."

I followed her out of the room and into the dining room. Voldemort was already seated at the far end of the room. I took my seat opposite him.

The table was only set for one so I gathered that he wasn't eating and we weren't going to be joined by Damon and Victoria.

"Good evening Megan, I hope you are well," said Voldemort, just the sound of his voice sent shivers up my spine.

"I'm fine."

"Yes, well how about you eat, we can speak after. Victoria!"

Victoria walked in looking angry, like usual, and put a couple of plates of food in front of me. On one was a beautiful looking lamb roast the other was piled high with roast vegetables. There was also a pitcher of gravy.

Victoria stormed out the room, slamming the door.

I began to put food on my own plate and ate it in silence. Once I finished Damon was called and he cleared away the plates.

"Has your training begun?" said Voldemort with an evil smile.

"Training?"

"Oh! Did I say training? I meant your lessons."

"Oh, umm yeah I've had a few." I mumbled feeling confused. Training? What was really going on here?

"Excellent." Voldemort had this strange glint in his eye. "Victoria!"

The door flew open and Victoria stormed in. She slammed a plate of chocolate mud cake onto the table in front of me.

I sighed but picked up the spoon and began to eat some of the cake. It was delicious but I had already eaten so much that I didn't eat very much cake.

Voldemort began to ask me about what I had been taught so far. We talked for quite sometime.

"Oh it is a minute to midnight. Come with me."

I followed Voldemort/Quirrel as they awkwardly shuffled across the room. We walked into the room next door and over to the window.

We stood waiting until suddenly there was a huge explosion outside the window and fireworks exploded in the sky. The fireworks were spectacular and they were even magical with animals dancing across the sky.

The fireworks ended and Voldemort attempted to smile at me. "Here I got you this" he said.

He pressed a denim bag identical to the one I had had on the day I was brought here into my hands.

"I must be off, goodbye. Damon escort Megan back to her room."

Damon grabbed my arm and dragged me back to my basement room. Damon slammed the door and locked it, leaving me alone.

I looked at the bag seeing a note pinned to it.

'Megan I had an enchantment put on the bag so that it is bottomless. You will be able to put anything inside and as much of anything as you like.'

I stared at the bag bottomless. Hmm this could be useful for when I escape.

***Harry POV***

I sat staring at the New Years feast in silence. I didn't feel like celebrating, how could I when my sister is missing?

I could hear someone starting the count down. I looked up to the staff table and blinked in surprise when I noticed there were two empty seats. Quirrel and Snape were missing.

Hmmm Snape seemed to be up to something lately he was always acting strangely, especially since Megan was kidnapped. What if he had some thing to do with her kidnapping? I frowned, I would find out what was going on with Snape if it was the last thing I did.
