Two years have passed since the perishing of Sakura, during the two long years, Heracles often visited Kiku out of spite. He'd visit so often, that Kiku even gave him a spare key to his house, there were nights where either or, would hear the other cry over the disappearance of Sakura. After many sleepless nights, and during the summer of the third year, Kiku suddenly gets a phone call from Alfred.
Kiku's cell phone rings with the tune of the new anime opening he recently got into, he reads the caller ID, and picks up. "Hello?-"
"KIKU I THINK I JUST SAW SAKURA." Alfred's breathless and loud voice rang through Kiku's ears, and he winced.
"Alfred, if this is some kind of new joke, I do not appreciate it."
"No, no, no, no, you don't understand!" Kiku hears the sound of some scuffling, and wonders what the heck was Alfred doing before calling him. "I was playing a video game, the one you just sent me, right? And then, I started thinking about Sakura, and I said out loud how much she would have loved this game okay? And then, and then! I look over to my left and holy crap dude I swear I saw her, but when I looked again she was gone!"
"Alfred would you like me to prescribe some medicine for you?"
"Kiku, dude trust me! I'm not going crazy, I swear I saw her! You gotta believe me!"
Kiku sighs, "Alfred it's been two and a half years, and we're still all doing our best to get over it. This may be your way of coping with it, but it sure is not my way."
"But Kiku!" Alfred whines. "You have to believe me!"
"I'll believe it when it happens. I'll see you soon, Alfred." With another sigh, Kiku hangs up before Alfred starts whining again.
Although Kiku wanted to believe that happened, he tried his best to deny it. If he brought his hopes up, there's a chance that they'll be shot down, and he'd rather not go through that pain. However his opinion changed, five months later.
As the seasons changed, and the weather got colder, Kiku was unfortunate enough to catch a small cold. He sneezes and makes his way downstairs from his room to drink some water. As he poured himself a glass, a sudden, and. Very familiar voice calls out to him. "Kiku!" Kiku looks up, and to his astonishment, Sakura was standing in front of him. "Sakura? Is that... Is that really you?"
"It's been a while, hasn't it?" She smiles gently, and Kiku feels as though his sinuses have been cleared.
"I... I'm not going crazy am I?" Kiku recalls what Alfred had told him five months ago, and starts to sympathize with him.
Sakura shakes her head. "Five months ago, I was able to meet with Alfred, though, I wasn't able to stay long enough to hold a conversation, unlike now."
Kiku feels his emotions stirring, and covers his mouth, holding back a sob. "Sakura... It's been two years..."
"I know... I'm sorry..." Sakura's voice sudden begins to get fainter, along with her image. "I'll be back soon, Kiku." Then, she vanishes. Kiku stands still for a while before doing anything. Then proceeds to call Alfred to tell him that he wasn't going crazy.
This sort of occurrence didn't just happen to Alfred and Kiku, but the other nations as well, and after some time and claiming that it did happen to them, they came to an agreement to meet once again at Kiku's house. The atmosphere in the Japanese man's house was surprisingly calming, like a long awaited reunion was finally being held. After the nations finally settled down, Arthur was the first to speak.
"She first appeared in front of me when I was attending to my rose garden." He smiles to myself, "Sakura she... Complimented me on how well they were growing, then she disappeared before my eyes."
The other nations agreed, saying the same thing happened to them as well.
Feliciano raised his hand, then spoke next, "Luddy and I were watching a movie together when suddenly Sakura appeared beside us! We were able to watch five minutes of the movie together before she vanished."
"I was watching an old Chinese document," Yao adds on, "and she was suddenly beside me, and teased me on how my tastes are still bad." Yao smiles to himself. "I couldn't bring myself to get angry, as I usually would've have."
"Oui, when I was enjoying a pleasant dinner with myself, I looked up from my plate and voila, she was sitting across me." Francis smirked to himself, "Sakura also complimented me on how my tastes were always exquisite. We were able to share a glass of wine together before she vanished."
"Me too..." Heracles speaks in a soft voice, "I was attending my cats when I noticed that she was beside me." Heracles smiles to himself, "I felt as though I haven't heard her voice in forever."
"Judging from our experiences..." Kiku pondered out loud, "Sakura is really trying her best to return to us?" The nations all smile and agree at Kiku's proposal. "She, she really is planning on keeping her promises, isn't she?" Kiku begins to tear up and Feliciano hands him a tissue, as Ludwig pats his back.
"Of course she is!" Alfred grins, "Sakura is Sakura, she'd always keep her promises with us!"
The nations cheer in happiness, now knowing that they have proof, that their beloved nation was returning to them. Their cheers came to a halt as someone loudly knocks on the door. Kiku excuses himself and walks over to the door, Heracles closely following behind. As he opens the door, Takeshi is bent over, huffing and puffing.
"Takeshi?" Kiku asks, "What brings you here?"
Takeshi and swallows, trying his best to maintain his breath, then looks up. He see Heracles and tells him, "H-Heracles-san!.... Sakura she... I just saw by the memorial river!... You, you have to go see her... Now!"
Heracles looks over to Kiku, and he smiles, "Go ahead."
"Thank you, Kiku!" He hugs the smaller man tightly, catching him off guard, and thanks Takeshi as well. "Takeshi, thank you as well!" And ruffles his hair before sprinting to the river.
"Well, would you like to come in?" Kiku steps aside for Takeshi.
"Thanks but, I gotta head back to the shop." Takeshi smiles, then runs back to his flower shop.
"He's matured, hasn't he?" Francis points out from behind Kiku. "I suppose so, then again, we all have, haven't we?"
