"Sshhh, be quiet!"

"I am being quiet! You be quiet!"

"They'll hear us!"

The two young siblings were leaning against a great oak door, listening in on the conversation going on on the other side. They were a boy and a girl, twins, to be exact. Other than being opposite genders, they were exactly alike. Light blonde hair, striking blue eyes, pale skin, and a knack for getting into trouble. They were listening to there parents, hoping to learn some interesting information-no one ever told them anything, because they were only 10 years old. Inside however, their parents, the lord and lady of O'Khasis, were talking about plans for the twin son, Garroth.

"Its time Zianna, he's old enough."

"He's only ten Garte, thats too young, the older boys will take advantage of that."

"I've already decided, Garroth is going to guard camp, and thats final!"

Upon hearing this, the twins looked at each other. Garroth's face was lit up, he had always dreamed of going to guard camp, and training to protect others. But though his sister Melody was smiling, her eyes were full of sorrow, and despair. Garroth wasn't just her brother, he was her very best friend. A day didn't go by that she didn't see him, didn't talk with him. They were as thick as thieves, and Melody had thought that they always would be. But guard camp takes years to complete, after Garroth left, she wouldn't properly see him until he was as adult, and she would barely know him. She had known it would happen, but she ignored it, thought that if she pretended it wouldn't happen, they maybe it wouldn't. But that was only the wishful thinking of a child, nothing more. Melody didn't want Garroth to go, but she could tell from the look on his face that he was ecstatic. Melody knew him better than she knew herself, and she knew that if she asked him to stay he would, and she desperately wanted to ask him, but she couldn't.  She would be keeping him from his dream, and she loved him to much to do that. So she smiled, and didn't let him see the pain.

"Im going to guard camp! Isn't this great Melody?"

"Actually Garroth.....I-Its wonderful, I'm so happy for you."
