Really quick before I start this chapter, I just want to say how sorry I am for the lack of updates, I think I'm going to be less busy once spring break ends, crazy, right? But anyway, thank you for reading my lame story for some reason, and without further adu, here is the long-awaited next chapter!                         -MelodySmith7258

The freezing cold wind blew through the local blacksmith that winter day, causing all of the tools and pots and pans to short in their places. It was horrible conditions to try and forge tools and weapons in, but it was the perfect weather for  the young thieves. There were three in total, a girl and a boy, both about 15 in age, and their leader.

The leader wasn't who you would expect to be running around a respectable village like this, wearing ripped pants and dirty boots. She was a princess, even though nobody knew it. It had been a few months since Melody Ro'meave had found those three little runaway's in the woods. Since then, they had dug into the hillside, and now they had a right cozy home. Of course, it was still being expanded, what with all of the outcast's in town flocking to the new hideaway where they could be accepted. They varied in age, the youngest being 10, and the eldest being 17, nearly as old as Melody herself. The princess had shared her story of how she ran away, leaving out the more gruesome details for the little ones, but nonetheless, all those in the camp knew of Melody's past. Melody had grown to be a leader to them, a guardian. She was the one who organized all of the raids on Nahakra whenever they needed more supplies or food, and she was the one who trained them. Since more people had come to the camp, Melody had needed more thieves, she couldn't do it by herself anymore. So she organized a thief training program of sorts, where she taught the recruits basic fighting skills, she taught them how to pick pocket and be light on their feet, how to blend into a crowd or the shadows. All this she was still learning herself, o she was a very humble leader, and most everyone respected her greatly and followed her lead. There had been ties when she had been disobeyed, but thats a different story, for a different time.

Melody and her two companions, Josh and Christal, were hiding in the blacksmiths workshop. At a signal from Melody, Christal moved from behind the marble counter, to underneath the dark oak wood table. Christal was one of the more experienced thieves, she had run away from home when her parents started physically punishing her when she acted out against them. She had harbored a lot of anger towards them, but she was learning to forgive...slowly. Josh, on the other hand, joined just a few weeks ago, but he had showed natural talent for the art of thievery. Now, Melody was leading them on a raid in the local smithery, the camp needed more swords, pickaxes, knifes, bows, you name it. The camp needed to prepare for winter before the snow came in.

Josh was going to be the distraction this evening, he was leaning against the wall on the outside of the shop, waiting for his cue to enter and give the girls a chance to raid the place. As soon as Christal was in position, she lifted her chocolate-colored hands to her face, and make a bird call. It was one of the reasons Melody had chosen the black-haired girl on this particular gig. She was skilled at mimicking animal noises, highly useful for signals and distractions. Upon hearing the note Josh stepped in the the shop, opening the door loudly as to alert the blacksmith to his presence. He played  the part of a curious youth looking to learn more about the art of forging, running his hand through his red hair and giving  winning smile to the smith. While josh was chatting up the smithy, Melody and Christal silently grabbed whatever they could find on the tables, or hanging from racks. Melody went for the weapons while Christal went for the tools, an arrangement they had worked out prior to leaving the camp. Just as Melody was grabbing for another bow, the smithy told Josh that he was busy, and had to get back to work. Time to go! Josh cried, 'Wait!' in order to give the girls the few seconds they needed to get out, and then Josh was on his way after the impatient man told him to get out. They took the back way out of the village, running for the camp before the blacksmith found out he had been robbed and alerted the guards. The heist ha gone according to plan, and the three had made it out with three bows, four swords, two small knives, four pickaxes, an axe, and a till. It was a good haul. With the new equipment the base was expanded, and a small farm was made inside the hollowed out hill that served as their home. Later that night, Melody reflected that, if the camp continued to expand the way it has, it would turn into a real thieves guild.
