Nina's P.O.V
I walk downstairs to see my mom ,dad and Jack running around the place like they lost something. Jack puts down the cake as my mom leaves a gift bag on the table and my dad just finish tying balloons. I coughed awkwardly and they freeze to look at me.
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY , SWEETIE " My mom says running up to me and squeezing me.
" Nina is now an adult " Jack says jumping up and down before hugging me .
" But she is still my little girl " My dad says pulling me in for a hug now .
" Why were you guys all running around ?" I asked digging into my french toast that my mom makes.
" Because your dad and I have important news to tell you" My mom said holding my dad's hand.
" You are pregnant " I said getting excited as Jack drops his fork.
" No it's not that " My mom says laughing as dad looks a bit nervous to my prediction.
" Stanford called saying they will love for you to have a tour of the campus along with the interview " My dad says eating while looking proud at me.
"No way ! When ?" I asked beaming with joy as Jack returns with another fork .
" In March " My mom says and I smile even more. My parents must've contacted them for me .
I open my presents after eating making sure to thank my parents and Jack. I then go upstairs to see a million messages from the group wishing me a Happy Birthday and saying how they want to plan some party for me today.
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY PINA !!!! " Nathan screams through my intercom making me jump up in suprise.
God, this boy drives me crazy. that morning after Christmas when we were walking Teddy, I couldn't believe I build up the courage to finally kiss him. I hope he didn't notice that I wanted to kiss him but he was leaning in , too until Teddy started barking at us .Well I actually want him to one day kiss me out of no where just because he wanyed to. It will be like a dream coming true.
He enters my room a few minutes after and hands me my gift along with balloons.
"So change of plans " Nathan says looking at me not to freak out.
" Why don't we just throw a party for you instead of going on that double date ? " He asks looking for a response.
I guess he was the one who brought up the idea in the group chat. But the only reason I am doing the double date is so I can hang out with Nathan.
" But I really want to go out with Levin " I said going through my closet as he follows.
" How about if you go out for lunch and then come to your party.I will plan everything" Nathan says smiling that things are going his way as usual .
"Why do you want to have a party so badly ? " I asked knowing that Nathan is hiding something from me.
" Okay to be honest I want to just spend more time with Lana since we just started dating, again. Also, because I really don't feel like going on a double date with you and Levin anymore " He says looking at me honestly. Well that just stung me like a bee.
It's my birthday and he doesn't want to hang out with me. He wants to hang out with his girlfriend. I can't believe him. Wait , I shouldn't be mad because I was the one that told him to stop choosing me over her. I really need to stop getting mad over these little things. We ar enot even dating but a little part of me hoped that he didn't listen to me.
" So how exactly is a party going to give you guys more time " I asked trying not to over react.
" Fine Pina, we planned to leave the party after an hour" He says shrugging his shoulders like it's not a big deal.
