"You're nothing," he said as he looked down at me.

I looked away trying to hide the tears that threatened to rush out.
Don't let them see you cry. That is what he wants. That's what they all want. The little voice in my head whispered.

"What, cats got your tongue?" she asked.

I shook my head and kept my eyes trained on the floor. They circled me like a pack of wolves would do with their prey.

"What's wrong nerd? You have no witty comebacks today, no sarcasm?" He grabbed my face. "Look at me when I'm talking to you!" He yelled

"I would, but I would prefer not to have nightmares tonight if I did," I said with a fake smile.

"There's the nerd I know," he said with a grin. "But I see she hasn't learned her lesson yet," he said, as his foot connected with my stomach.

I yelped in pain while they laughed. He grabbed me from my hair. I tried to pry his painful grip away. Shit, This hurts.

"Stop," he said, yet I continued. "I said stop!" He yelled. I looked up at him, and met his cold stare. "You are nothing" he paused. "You will always be nothing," he whispered into my ear, for only me to hear. With a final kick to my side he walked away, with his friends right behind him. The sound of their laughter dying in the distance.

Curling up in a ball I let the tears fall freely. "He's right I am nothing." Sadly nothing can change the inevitable.
