Today is the day that (at least I) have been looking forward to! The "final" chapter of How the Lab Rats Fell!
Garrett
This was becoming so infuriating.
Douglas, Chase, and I were so close to finishing these chips! But, of course, there was something missing. There's always something missing.
"And another fail in the simulator," Chase reported,"But this was a bit of a step up."
"How so?" I asked flatly.
"Instead of your brain and heart melting, they would explode into an array of flashing colors," Chase explained.
"Well, we have to hurry," Douglas said.
"Why?" I asked. Man, was I feeling confused today or what?
"Chase's bail runs out on the 30th," Douglas said, "We have two days."Leo
Well, this was boring. I had finally been able to sneak to the island, and it was a 'break and do nothing' day. Big D was taking all of the students on a field trip, Chase and Douglas were on the mainland, which left Bree, Adam, and I alone on the island. Now, under normal circumstances, I would've taken this time to sneak out on Big D's speed boat or visit my friend on the ISS using Big D's spaceship. But there was one problem. There was a huge tropical storm nearby, and while it didn't threaten any land, it did threaten the island. So, leaving the island by any means other than the hydro-loop was strictly forbidden, and sealed with bionic proof locks.
"Ugg!" Bree complained, entering the room, "Since when did Instagram get boring?"
"Since Chase sent his essence into your phone?" Adam suggested, entering behind Bree.
"You know," I commented, "This guy is smarter than he looks."
"Yeah," Bree agreed, then started shaking her phone violently, screaming, "GET OUT CHASE!!! GET OUT OF MY FREAKING PHONE!!!"
"Man, that's gonna go viral," Adam said, and we high fived.
"What?" Bree asked, out of breath.
"Meaning that we got that whole scream episode on video," I explained, "And Instagram is gonna get interesting again."
"My life is over," Bree said.
"Thankfully, you're isolated on a remote island filled with people without phones, much less Instagrams," Adam pointed out. I grabbed Adam with my bionic arm and started shaking him up and down.
"GET OUT CHASE!!!" I screamed, "GET OUT OF MY FREAKING BROTHER!!!"Chase
I didn't understand how this could be so hopeless. I had about 36 hours before prison.
"You know what," I said, "Figure this out by yourselves. I'm gonna live my life as a free person while I still can."
"I've been in your position" Douglas sympathized, "And I know the best places."
"Let's do it!" I exclaimed. How bad could this be?"
Two Hours Later
Okay, it could be pretty bad. Let's just say Douglas took me to a sportsbar full of bodybuilder ex-prisoners. Twerp me. I'm not gonna be able to wear a tee-shirt for months...Bree
Well, I was mad at Leo and Adam because of the video, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not too bad. I mean, that boy is dead, but I am on an isolated island. It's not the end of the world.
Suddenly, the island shook, and sirens started going off. Above the sound of sirens, you could hear metal scraping and feel the island tearing. I managed to regain my balance, and super speeded to the mentor quarters, where Leo and Adam were.
"What is going on!?" I shouted.
"I don't know!" Leo responded. Suddenly cracks spread across the floor.
"What are we gonna do?" Adam asked.
"Let me check the damage," Leo said, and clicked a bit on the glitchy cyber desk. He yelped.
"What is it?" I asked.
"The storm is going through the island," Leo said.
"We're all gonna die!" Adam shouted.
Then, the island shook violently again. We fell down with a thud, which only added to the cracks in the floor.
"If we have any chance of making it, we have to get out now!" Leo yelled.
"With this storm, there's no way we can make it to the hydro-loop!" I yelled back.
"Then ram it with another storm!" Adam suggested.
"Yes!" Leo exclaimed, "Adam, you said something smart! Bree, use your super speed to create a vortex to intercept the storm!"
"Are you crazy?" I shouted, "I've never pushed my bionics that far! What if I can't do it?"
"You're our only hope!" Leo screeched, "Now go!"
I did my best to stand up, then took a deep breath. I started speeding in a circle around the cracked table.
"Good, now biggen it!" Adam shouted.
"And there goes intelligent comments," I said through gritted teeth. I focused on making my circle bigger, faster. Soon, I was the size of as small cyclone. Picking up speed, I charged the storm. I could vaguely see Adam and Leo.
"Big D locked the hydro-loop!" Leo exclaimed, "And the locks are bionic proof!"
"But the control panel isn't!" Adam said, and punched the panel, causing the lock to deactivate. After some clumsy maneuvers, I hit the storm head on. It bounced off my cyclone and hurtled to open sea. However I bounced off as well. My feet left the ground. Holy crap. I was flying! Suddenly, I realized that I didn't control the storm anymore.
"Come on Bree!" Leo yelled, "Let's get out of here!"
"I can't control it!" I screamed, "I can- aaahhhh!"
Suddenly, my words were ripped right from my mouth as I was flung out of my cyclone into the ocean.
