Chapter Seventeen: Heather

"This is going to be the best prank ever!" I whisper exclaimed.
"Yeah, just keep the camera rolling and let me do the fun stuff," Garrett replied.
"How did you get the hydra loop key any way?" Fern asked.
"Master of the invisible," Garrett confirmed, "And Bree was out cold. That certainly helped."
"Can we just do this?" I asked.
"Okay," Garrett replied, swiping the hydra loop key card through the slot. The doors opened.
"And here we are, I guess," Fern said.
"Man, I commented, their Halloween decorations are horrible! Like, try maybe?"
"Ok," Garrett whispered, "Here's the plan. Fern, hack the alarm system so it will only go off on the mentor quarters. Heather, set up the giant robot thingies that you begged us to bring. I'll set up everything in the room. Got it?"
"Yep," Fern and I answered. Both ran off, leaving me alone top set up my awesomeness.
First, I constructed a seven foot tall scarecrow robot with a glowing jack o lantern head. Next, I made a clown robot with lots of cuts and the creepiest face I could imagine. Finally, I set up a horde of zombies loaded with red KoolAid. I grabbed a "fake" chainsaw, put on a creepy mask, and headed to the mentor quarters, where there was a dim light and a fog machine. Fern came in with the detonate button. This was going to be epic.

So I finally updated twice in a month. Yay, I finally don't need a 100 word author's note.
Anyway, we're back to the good old days of shorter, more frequent updates, and back to one POV per update. Restrictive, but it keeps me from overcomplicating things.

Also, huge thank you to my  five (I know, I know, tad pathetic) followers! Thank you so much, this really helps me be more motivated to update.

Fern was in charge of the countdown.
"Three"
"Two"
"One"
Any order in that room was lost.
The alarm went off, I started my chainsaw, and Adam, Bree, and Chase for the scare of their lives.
All three of them glitched, with Adam lasering the jack o lantern guy's jack o lantern off, Bree speeding on to the greased flour (you can probably guess where that went) and Chase sneezing on me for no apparent reason. All mixed with screams of terror and metal slicing. Yeah, Adam hadn't turned off his heat vision yet. Finally, I stopped the video and immediately posted it on my Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Vine, YouTube, and Snapchat. This really was amazing.
Garrett finally turned on the lights, and did the ritual we got you speech. Then, Bree's phone started going crazy. Wow, that video's viral already.
"Wait," Chase said, "How'd you get on the island?"
"Garrett stole Bree's hydra loop key," Fern explained.
"Wow," Garrett chastised, "Thanks for selling me out Fern!"
"Anytime bro," she responded.
"Anyway," I interjected, "We should be going now."
"Yeah, see ya around," Garrett continued, starting towards the door. However, all of a sudden, a figure with a crazed expression on his face and a cleaver.
"Okay," Adam protested, "Are you going to make me glitch again?"
"This want us this time!" I said, defending myself.
Then, more crazed people with various weapons materialized around us in a circle.
Then, the scariest guy materialized in the center of us all. His head was waxed, a goatee, and what looked like wires implanted in his head.
"And there's our explanation," said Chase.
"Who is that guy," I whispered.
"Me?" the guy stated, "I'm Victor Krane, of course. Haven't you heard of me?"
"Oh yeah..." Garrett said, "But you looked less- dead."
"Now that you've takes down most of your defenses, it was easy to get in," Krane said. Garrett and I looked at Fern accusingly. Adam, Bree, and Chase followed suit.
"Sorry," she said unapologetically.
Right then, something changed in the zombies' (?) appearances. Before I knew it, a real and very solid chainsaw whizzed an inch above my head.
"Oh it is on!" I challenged and charged the chainsaw zombie. You don't want to see how he ended up.
"Ooh!" Krane squealed, "My triton app is up and running again. Here come the soldiers!"
"We got to stop the students too!" Bree exclaimed.
"But if we split up, then we'll all die!" Garrett protested. The cleaver zombie took that moment to throw his cleaver at Garrett, barely missing him.
"Or we could split up I'm fine with leaving," Garrett said.
"Chase, come with us!" Bree said, "The three of you, take care of Krane and his zombies."
As Garrett, Bree, and Chase left, Fern ran over to the fog machine. She turned in on high until it became a high powered jet of water. Ten zombies lost their legs.
Meanwhile, I swung my chain saw wildly around until and spiked glove zombie grabbed it away from me and sent me flying. Needless to say, ten more zombies lost their heads.
Three zombies marched in a line at Adam, and he kicked one zombie in the stomach, and the zombie domino effect happened. Then, a zombie swept his feet out from under him, but he kicked up and cracked its neck. Upon getting up, Adam grabbed the two zombies charging him and threw them across the room. I recovered and justified my martial arts experience by taking out five more zombies, while Fern's water and Adam's bionics took out another twenty or so until finally it was us and Krane. He sent out a blast wave that knocked us down. He laughed evilly.
"This is the end of yoouuaaaauuuuggggghhhhhhh!" Krane half boomed half exclaimed. I had landed right next to a vacuum. And that's how you kill dead people.

Next update will be the battle of Garrett, Bree, and Chase. And the update after that, well, buckle up.
