*Reyna's POV*

Our examinations had rolled by pretty soon and the college was just waiting for the last few days to get over so that they could rush home for winter break. However , we still had classes to attend to in the last few days.

"Oh man. I can't do this.", I heard Anna groan from beside me. I looked up from doodling and gave her a slight smile.

We had been sitting in chemistry for the last two hours since the last class got cancelled.

" I told you ! We should have bunked !", Anna whispered through gritted teeth and I thought for the hundredth time that we really should have skipped class and gone to the cafe.

Anywhere but here !

I put my head down on the desk planning for a last bench snooze when the class door opened and the peon peeked inside.

"Ms. Kane ?", I jerked my head upwards," the Dean wants to see you. Right now."

The class seemed to enjoy the rare minutes of disturbance while I was sweating bullets. I thought about all the things I had done over the past one month that could probably get me into some serious trouble. As I got up and straightened my skirt I heard Anna mutter ,"Guess not skipping wasn't such a bad idea after all." I glared at her and followed the peon earning a look from Ms. Chemistry for disturbing her class.

Holy shit ! What the hell are my parents doing here ?! Reyna Kane. Just one word. SCREWED !

As I entered the dean's office , I saw the all too familiar faces sitting there. Although I was seeing them after months, I wasn't too keen on seeing my parents here. My mother got up and gave me a hug which would have been a little more welcome after a couple days .

"Sit Ms. Kane", the dean spoke as I hastily pulled out a chair for myself. "I'm sorry for pulling you out of your chemistry class."

Well .. I am not.

"I believe your exams were good. Weren't they ?"
"Well yeah .. Of course !"

"I would like to get to the point Ms. Kane. "

Yeah. Expulsion. Bring it on.

"You are getting a scholarship. Teachers tell that you have been acing in the field of environmental science and would like to help you go further and study. Would you like that ?", she finished with a smile.

Excuse me ? Can you please repeat that entire monologue ?

Would I like that ? Well....

"Of course I w.... Wow. This is surreal!", I said tearing up.

Studying the marine life had been my dream for God knows how long! By the looks on my parents faces , they had already been informed.

Christmas had come early for me !

The dean then went on talking about the formalities to my parents while I was already in a different country. Suddenly she pushed a paper towards me and it had a choice of three countries from which I could choose from.
"You can take all the time you want and submit the paper tomorrow dear", she said.
After glancing at the options I told her that I didn't need time. I took a pen and ticked.

Four years had been enough for me to make a choice and I knew exactly what I wanted.

I was boarding a flight to Australia in January. Imaginary fireworks erupted all over the sky.
