Wrote this the day before Alden & Cindy's supposed wedding. This was when Yaya Dub said her goodbyes to Alden.

Hope you like it! 😊

It's the day everyone has been dreading. It's Alden & Cindy's wedding. While everyone is busy preparing for the wedding, Alden is inside his hotel room looking at his reflection in the mirror.
Nothing. There's nothing there. His face is as pale as the moon, the sparkle in his eyes are long gone, and his be-dimpled smile can no longer be seen. What was once a man full of life is now a lifeless being. He remembers what happened the day before. Him begging Maine. He wanted her to take him back, to take back everything she said. "Hindi na kita mahal. May mahal na akong iba." There it was again. That familiar ache. He was hurt. He is so hurt that he feels like he has been stabbed in the heart countless of times. Bakit?, Alden thought. Bakit mo nakayang sumuko? Bakit? He stopped himself before the tears start to fall. Tama na Alden. Tama na. Ito na ang buhay mo. Wala nang Maine. Si Cindy. Siya na ang magiging buhay mo. Tama na. He keeps on repeating those words inside his head, thinking that maybe at one point, he might actually believe it. He heard a knock on the door. "Sir Alden?" A man peeked inside. "Ready na po ang lahat. Kailangan na daw po kayo sa simbahan." Alden just looked at him then he breathed deeply. This is it Alden. Let it go. Just let it all go. He stood up and made his way to the church.
The church was adorned beautifully with white and yellow flowers. When Alden arrived, he immediately saw it. Her favorite color. He shook his head with that thought.  He breathed deeply, for the second time, and walked inside the church. But before he could go inside, he saw a familiar figure, standing a few feet away from him. He knows it too well. There she was, standing beside the door, looking at him. She took a step, but he raised his hand to stop her. "Maine", he called. "Alden", she called, her voice breaking. "Sorry. Sorry, Alden." She can no longer control the tears falling. She cried and sobbed and cried some more. He wanted to hug her so bad, but he stopped himself. Mali, Alden. Sabi mo bibitaw ka na. Tama na. Her voice brought him out of his reverie. "Alden, akala ko kaya ko pero-", he stopped her before she could say more. "Tama lang ang ginawa mo Maine." Now she was confused. He went on before he could change his mind. "Tama ang naging desisyon mo. I've accepted it now. Siguro, hindi talaga tayo ang para sa isa't isa. I might just fall in love with Cindy eventually. Parang tayo, hindi naman natin inaasahan na magugustuhan natin ang isa't isa pero nangyari. Cindy & I, we have a lifetime to learn to love each other. We don't need to rush."
Lifetime. That got Maine. Cindy will get to spend her lifetime with Alden, instead of her. And just the mere thought of it, the pain that she was already feeling, intensified. Is this really it? Is she losing him? "Makakabuti din 'to sa'yo Maine. Makakapag-aral ka ulit. Magagawa mo lahat ng pinapangarap mo. Walang hahadlang sa'yo. Malayang malaya ka na." With those words, Maine cried even more. Di niya kaya. "Alden, akala ko walang susuko?" Alden just looked at her. She understood. Siya ang unang bumitaw. Siya ang unang sumuko. "Sana maging masaya ka Maine. Yung totoong masaya. Para kahit isa man lang sa atin, masaya talaga. Hindi masasayang yung sakripisyo." He smiled at her, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Goodbye, Maine." And with that, Alden walked past her without looking back. She looked at Alden's retreating figure and it was painful to look at. Your love walking away from you. Walking out of your life.

Maine's eyes fluttered open. It was a dream. No, it was more of a nightmare. She clutched her chest, and she can feel a sharp pang in her heart. The dream was too vivid. She saw Alden's face clearly. The blankness of his expression. It scared her. It hurt her. She can't take this. She doesn't want this. She got out of bed and immediately called for one person who can help her.

"Lola Nidora!"
