Ikaw at Ako

Naalala mo pa ba nung tayong dalawa'y magkaibigan pa lang?

The doors of the church opened and everybody turned their heads to it's direction. There she was, in her white Princess-cut gown, wearing her most beautiful smile. Everyone was taking all of her in, for she was looking so divine as she started walking down the aisle.

Akalain mo nga naman, aabot tayo sa araw na ito...

He, on the other end can't hide his nervousness and at the same time, his happiness. This is it. This is the day he's been waiting for. The day he can finally call her HIS. The day they will be bound as one.

Tumingin sa aking mga mata at dinggin ang nais isumpa...

As she was walking down the aisle, he can't help but look at her with so much admiration. "Eto na ba talaga 'to? End game na ba talaga?" He thought as he was looking at her walking in his direction. The thought that she will be his Mrs. in a short while is giving him butterflies. He saw her looking at him and he knew...this was really it. They locked their eyes at each other and before he knew it, she was already standing in front of him.

Ako ay iyo magpakailanman, ika'y minamahal ng puso kong ligaw walang sinisigaw kundi ikaw...

She was smiling from ear to ear, and her eyes were getting misty. She was looking at him. "Hindi pa ata napansin na nasa harap niya na ako." She continued looking at him and saw how his Best Man nudged him. He shook his head and smiled at her.
He offered his hand and she took it, and together they walked to face the Lord and make their promise of forever.

Ikaw ay akin walang katapusan, pinapangako na mamahalin kita hanggang sumapit ang huling umaga...

"Ikaw at ako." He said.
"Ikaw at ako." She promised.
They sealed their promise with a kiss and the crowd clapped and cheered for the new Mr. & Mrs.

"RJ! RJ!" Maine waved her hand in front of his face that made him snap out of his reverie.

"Nakikinig ka ba?"

"Huh? Oo! Ano nga ulit yun?"

"Hay nako! Ano ba iniisip mo? I'm telling you what happened yesterday tapos you aren't even listening."

"Sorry, Mahal. Na-distract kasi ako sa song. Ang ganda. Pwede siya sa kasal." Maine raised her eyebrow.

"Kasal? Are you imagining the future, right now?"

"I'm imagining OUR future. Masama ba?" He took her hand and kissed the back of it. Maine smiled at him.

"Wala naman. Pero before you imagine stuff, mag propose ka muna, uy!" She took her hand back and laughed. When she looked at him his face was serious.

"I don't have a ring but if I proposed right now, would you say 'yes'?" That stopped her from laughing. She was caught off guard with the question that she doesn't know what to say. She was about to make fun of the situation but she saw how serious RJ was.

"Hey, I can't say 'yes' right now...Oh teka, bago ka bumusangot diyan, let me explain. I can't say 'yes' right now, maghanap ka muna ng singsing 'no!" RJ rolled his eyes. She took his hand and intertwined their fingers.

"Marami pa tayong pagdadaanan. Marami pa tayong pangarap na gusto nating tuparin, para sa pamilya natin at para sa sarili natin. Pero lagi mong tatandaan na ikaw at ako lang. Okay? Hinding-hindi magbabago yun." That made RJ smile. He kissed her hand once again then her forehead, the tip of her nose, and lastly, her lips. He rested his forehead on hers and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ikaw at ako." He said.
"Ikaw at ako." She promised.

And they sealed their promise with the softest of kisses. ❤️
