CHAPTER TWENTY NINE
We layed at camp all night. I realized that when you love someone and they are hurting. You hurt. I layed there brushing my fingers into Codys hair. The sun was starting to rise and we both got up still a little shocked from the whole night.
"D-do you want to go see Sophia?" I stuttered unsure.
"Uh yeah. Could I just go alone though?" He pulled off his shirt, baring his fit body that I have already examined numerous of times but it still infatuated me.
"Yeah I'll just be with Alice.." He leaned down with a straight face and kissed me, then walked away to meet her.
Everything that happened last night was still a big shock for me. I mean I love Cody dearly but he holds things in for so long and gets so angry. What if that happened to me? What if he has more secrets? I started to sike myself out and decided to just stay in his truck due to the lack of sleep and overwhelming thinking of how I was feeling.
What felt like forever, Cody finally came back and startled me taping on the passanger window. I hoped out, confused and with major bed head. Sophia was behind him and I just stood their realizing what was happening. Cody laughed at my state of confusion and messy look.
"Sorry to wake you but just wanted you to meet her a little more properly. Sophia, Haley. Haley, Sophia." I smiled and she grabbed me hugging me.
"Do you want to go see Passion Pit with me? Cody was going to stay with Blake and Mikey." I looked a bit behind Sophia and saw two tall boys.
"Sure, Sorry I am just so confused, I just woke up." We all laughed and Sophia grabbed my hand. We stopped next to Blake and Mikey.
"Boys this is Cody's girlfriend, Haley." They smiled and shook my hand. Blake was tall light blonde hair and super tan skin. Mikey had light brown hair and green eyes.
She walked with me, far from the concert, loud enough to hear but still enough to talk without yelling. We sat in the grass on this quilt she had in her bag.
She smiled, looking at me for a good few seconds before saying, "Wow. I never thought I would be seeing Cody's girlfriend, well never even thought I would see Cody! He said a lot about you."
I laughed and then blushed. "I never thought I would fall in love this young, well actually never thought it was possibly.. but I mean I love him."
"He is a really good guy. I know everything that was told to you last night would probably make any girl run but I just really hope you are different."
"If this is too much to ask, but how did you deal with everything?" I asked and she looked off in the distance, a silent tear ran down her cheek.
"It was hard. Jack was my first love, but after his parents died, he changed too. He wasn't the same cheerful little Jack I met. The night of the accident, he told me loved me..." She started to cry but just very calm tears. " and I asked why so randomly? He told me it on dates and when we were kissing but never just randomly at a party. He then said Idk just felt like I needed to say it. So even if Cody thinks its fully his fault and he always will, I think someone needed him and that wasn't here." I was silent taking in her grief but also her love for him.
"It try to look back at him with happiness and love. I know he would of never wanted me to be sad and I know he would of never blamed Cody for this. Cody was his little brother, and they had such an amazing bond. I have never even seen Cody this happy since before his parents passed. You changed his life." She smiled at me and tears ran down my eyes.
