Chapter Thirty

Oh my god... Cody.. Haley.. ugh this is so sad. Well check out my new book, The Miracle, but I think I will be writing another one soon too. 

CHAPTER THIRTY

I stood in front of my mirror, with my cap and gown on. It finally hit me that I was finally done with high school and today I was graduating. I held back tears thinking about how amazing senior year was but made sure not to ruin the amazing makeup Izzie did for me. Izzie was already at school because she gets to have a speech due to her amazing club that one an award this year. 

This year has been crazy, never would of imagined how it turned out. Meeting Cody was absolutely amazing and now today we will be walking down together. I walked over to my desk and pulled out the box of memories I have kept throughout senior year. 

I slowly pulled off the glittery lid and set it to the side. I pulled out a ton of pictures, the day I fell on the skateboard and Cody threw Slurpee at me. The night we saw Mama and we laughed threw the whole movie. A picture of Izzie and I during the ski trip where I went into a coma and Cody showed his love for me. I pulled out a Polaroid of Cody and I on Christmas, I looked pale and sick but he was sticking his tongue out with that hideous Christmas sweater. My eyes caught on the side of the box, the motel key when we went night swimming and the night I lost my virginity. Lastly, I pulled out the picture of Sophia, Cody, and I all at Coachella after I found out. I was shedding silent tears as these memories will stay with me. I walked to my mirror and made sure my makeup was still okay.

I put everything back and walked down stairs to see my empty house. My mom had to work today but is going to drive straight to my school just in time for graduation. I grabbed my car keys and drove for the last time to my high school. 

When I got to school I got in my place in line. Cody and I haven't seen each other yet because hes in the line across of me and then we meet to walk to get our diploma together. I waited and then finally heard our principal come up and talk. I was nervous to walk, I wasn't really sure why, maybe because I wasn't ready to leave yet. 

"Good afternoon. Today we will be one that most all of us will remember. This is the day that our seniors will be graduating and making lifes of themselves. We have two speeches from our asb president Kiki Noride and class elected speech by Izzie Jacobson." I screamed and so did the rest of the crowd. 

Kiki's speech was pretty good but it was like every other graduation speech. Sad and with some stupid metaphor. When she was done, Izzie stepped up to the stand. 

"Hello my fellow Seniors. The past four years with you guys have been incredible and they will stay with me for the rest of my life. This year, has been absolutely crazy from seeing my best friend in a coma to having my club take the national state award of 2013. I will miss you all in different ways and I know that every single one of you has made an impact on me and I hope you can say the same. As we all take our different paths in life, I hope you all reflect on the past four years and smile, I know I will. Never give up on your dreams cause in life all we have is hope and love. I wish you all luck in life but its not like you are going to need it. Congratulations Class of 2013. We kicked ass!" Everyone stood up and cheered. The teachers were not expecting that ending but decided to let it slide. Izzie stood their smiling and we made eye contact and making us both smile even harder. 

"Okay now we will present the diplomas. Please stand the graduating class of 2013." We all stood and got in line to get our diploma and take a picture with the principal. We were about half way through when I saw him. The love of my life. He shaved his scruffand looked amazing in his hat and gown. His blonde hair was pulled back into his cap and he green eyes shined with excitement. It was our turn to walk so he put his arm out and I linked in and walked up the stairs to receive our diplomas. On the way there, Cody whispered in my ear, "I love you, we did it." 

I shook Mr.Marshalls hand and got my diploma and then walked to Mr.Cross shaking his hand and taking a pic. I looked across the crowd to find my mom and I saw a small group waving. My eyes adjusted it and I could see Carly, My mom.... and oh my god. My dad was standing there. I waved as a tear rolled down my cheek. Cody behind me smiled, he must of known. 

After everyone got there diplomas, Mr.cross walked back up to the podium. "I now present you the class of 2013 Congrats!" We all cheered throwing up our hats and it almost felt like slow mo when I saw Cody in the distance smiling. I ran up to him with  all the hats falling around us and kissed him. I looked up laughing, all the hats falling and Cody grabbed one and put on my head kissing me again. I was done with high school and now I was going to open a new chapter of my life, with the love of my life. Cody and I were both accepted into Chico State College. Life could not be better. 

I shuffled threw the crowd trying to find my mom and my dad. I was crying just trying to find them. I haven't seen my dad in years and I mean I hated him for it but loved him and missed him. I saw the across the way and broke my entwined hands with Cody and ran into my dads arms. He was wearing his uniform and I just kept crying while he rubbed my head. 

"You're here." I cried to him. 

"I know, I'm so sorry I wasn't here for  a lot of things. The only reason I'm here was that boy over there." I turned to see Cody smiling. I ran up to him and kissed him.

"How?" I said smiling crying happy tears. 

"My dad was in the service before he died. He was kind of high in power you could say." I hugged him tighter. 

"I love you so much. Thank you." I kissed him over and over again. 

I turned to see Izzie running towards me, Jessie laughing behind her. The were going to move to Seattle together for Jessie to work with his uncle at his car company while going to community collage. Izzie would just be 20 minutes away at the University of Washington. I would miss her but she's going to be super happy. She ran into my arms. "You were amazing Iz." She said thank you crying then turned to kiss Jessie. 

I turned to find Cody and saw him hugging his crying aunt and being her was.. Sophia! I ran up and hugged her. "Nice to see you!" She said into the side on my head. 

"I'm so glad you are here!" Cody came over and pulled us both into a group hug. 

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Winter, Colton, Joey and Drake saying they wanted a picture of the old gang. We posed just like we did in 6th grade on the field with me on Joeys back. Drake on the floor posing and Coltons arm around winters and them making a funny face. We all laughed and I said my final goodbyes to everyone. 

"You ready to go? We need to get on the road soon as possible." Izzie said with Jessies arm around her. 

"Yeah, i'll just drive home and get my bag and then you can pick Cody and I up there." I said goodbye to all my teachers and took pictures with my dad and my mom. I was sad to leave them so soon but my dads here for the rest of summer! 

Once I got home, Cody pulled up with his bag of stuff. This summer before college would be the best summer of my life with my four best friends, one of them the love of my life.  I went inside, grabbing some water then seeing Izzie pull up in her suburban with Jessie. "You bitches ready to travel the U.S fucking A?!" We all screamed and hopped in the back. 

Cody slung his arm around me once in the car and I snuggled my head into his shoulder. Izzie turned up the radio playing the new daft punk song "Get Lucky" and we were on our way. First stop. Las Vegas. 

THE END

I might in the future do a sequel but I think this will do. I'm going to miss Haley and Cody and the gang! In the next week I will do a epilogue! Well, hope you guys enjoyed!
