CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

~*Codys POV*~

"Does this look fine?" I asked my aunt, I had to look impressive for Haley, this was her night. 

"You look great honey, I like that collared shirt, it brings out the green in your eyes." I looked down and saw the deep green in the shirt. I decided to slick my hair back and wear slacks. 

I drove to the communty arts center, the parking lot was packed, this was like big event. Walking in, I saw all the amazing art on the walls, but I couldn't keep my eyes off Haley who was standing by her art on the left of the room. She was wearing a black dress that flared out, and had her hair up into a bun with a black bow. I pushed past the crowd, as our eyes met she grinned and ran up into my arms. 

"You look great, Thank you for coming." She leaned up kissing my cheek, leaving her red lipstick marked on my face. 

I smiled down and turn to see the painting she made. She painted us togethor in the middle, she detailed my green eyes and blonde hair. It was beautiful. Around the painting of Haley and I, were the pictures that we took the day we had the water fight. 

"Ladies and Gentlemen, We are going to start our Student Amatuor Presentations in 5 minutes, so please find a seat, Thank you." We heard over the loud speaker. Haley said she had to go back stage and for me to go find Jessie and Izzie. 

Looking through the seats, I finally see Jessie wave me over and I sat down. We watched a few other students before Haley came up. Before her, this girl with black hair and dark eyeliner, showed us her painting of life and used the lights and darks of color to show it. It was so incredible how people can show there artistic side through just color itself. 

"Now Haley Olsen's painting on Love." Everyone claps and I see my petite little Haley walk up on stage with her huge painting. 

"When my teacher assigned me to do this project, one face, one name, one person came to my mind. This person has shown me how love isn't something you can see but you can feel. This person showed me that the beauty of someone is so much more than there appearance. This person is the one person who can make me smile when I think my life is over. This person is my love. Sometimes in life, you take your love for granted but I hope this painting will make you remember that love isn't about huge diamond rings or expensive dinners, but about those nights when you and the person you love have a water fight or just sit on the roof of your car and watch the stars or even laugh togethor after fighting for days. That is love. Thank you." She started to blush and I stood up clapping as did the rest of people around me. 

After the show, I saw Haley talking to some girl from school and twisted her around kissing her. She laughed as we kissed. "Cody... Cody!" She giggled, "I need to go talk to marshall, I'll be back." 

I walked over by Haleys painting and Izzie was staring up at it. I stood next her, staring at it with her. 

"She loves you so much. I haven't seen her like this since Julian." She broke her eyes from the painting to me. "She doesn't tell me a lot but she has mentioned this thing you have kept from her. She won't tell what it is or what it corulates to but please don't hurt her. If you are going to, just leave now. I don't feel like having to tell my best friend that she is beautiful and perfect as she cries every night again. I don't know what this thing your hiding but I wouldn't screw this up Cody. I know you love her too and that you are a good guy, just don't screw this up. She needs you Cody." I cringed to the sound of her saying that last line. She did not need me, I needed her. I grabbed her into a hug and Izzie just hugged me harder. 

"I won't screw this up Izzie. Trust me I need her more than she needs me." She looked up at me and gave me a light smile. We saw Haley walk towards us. 

"Hey babe, Lets go, where you wanna go?" She thought for a second then came to the descion of Rubys on the pier. We drove and walked down to rubys. 

We sat down on the booth by the water. "Are you excited for tommorrow?" she asked as she slurped down her huge chocolate shake. 

"I'm excited to see you in your dress. I know you will love amazing as always." She laughed at my sarcastic tone but knew I was telling the truth. We ate our fries and shakes, I paid the bill, and we walked out onto the pier. 

"Come sit on the bench with me." I grabbed her hips setiing her gently next to me. "I have your birthday present..." She got all jumpy and then calmed. "Cover your eyes..." 

"Okay.. oh my god im so excited." Her small little hands were covering her eyes. 

"Okay.... one.........two..........three........open!" Her hands left her face and her crystal blue eyes met the present. 

"Tickets to Coachella! No way! Oh my god! This is the best present in the world!" She grabbed me kissing me hard, due to the excitement. "Thank you Thank you Thank you." She said inbetween kisses. 

"Your welcome, I knew you would like it" She looked up nodding, hugging and kissing me again. 

She pulled back, the moon light shined around her head, as she leaned in once more for me to kiss her soft lips. 

I drove her home with her new favorite song, "Home" by Edward and the Magnetic Zeros, blasting. I pulled up to the curbside and she jumbled getting all her things in her purse. I pulled her chin up feeling her glossy lips against mine. I need to tell her. Like Izzie said I can't fuck this up. I look up and she practically attacks me, getting on my lap kissing me all over. 

"Haley listen I need to tell you something..." I said inbetween her fast kisses.

"mmm" She said uninterested. I hesitated and decicded just to tell her after coachella cause I don't want her to have a bad birthday if she reacts bad. After thinking about it, Haley kissing my neck, I grab her face kissing it while pulling off her shirt. This will be fun.
