Chapter Fifteen - The Mindless Slaves

I loaded my bow and aimed, Kat and Alex were already ready to use their swords to kill it.

Chase and Kat had their spears and wands up, ready to cast spells when needed.

Kat whispered something to Chase, no one could hear what they said. Chase nodded and started to back away.

I then realized why, Chase is male so he could easily be captured.

Alex raised her sword and ran at the mermaid with full speed, this so called Mermaid didn't even move. Didn't flinch, not a single expression changed. We soon found out why when Alex was about to let her sword cut threw the skin of the beast it was stopped by a shield.

Alex eyes widen, she growled like a dog and started to back away. Slowly.

"Idiots, you think I'm scared of you?" She dived into the water in front of her. She swam around for a bit before she did a Disney style hair flip and stared back at us, a sparkle in her eyes.

"Only a man can kill me. And your only man is about to become my dinner."

Right when she closed her mouth we heard a scream, Chase's scream. All of us shot around and saw him being pinned down by mindless slaves.

Kat didn't even think about anything anymore. She bolted over there faster then the speed of light and kicked the mindless slaves off him.

Luna growled, "WATCH OUT THERES MORE!" She started kicking off this army of mindless men, who just appeared out of no where.

I wasn't much help because I went down in seconds, I was gagged and tied up.

Next, Alex went down. She put up a better fight then me, a lot better. Kat went down along with Chase. Kat and Alex were both gagged and tied up, exactly like me. Chase wasn't tied up or gagged, which was a good thing I thought. But I didn't realize what this mermaid beast was actually planning.

Luna stayed strong, she knew she couldn't kill the people so it was harder for her to fight back. Finally, even she was like the three of us.

We all watched, helpless and weak, as the mindless slaves dragged the terrified little Chase over to the mermaid. He was shaking to the point his helmet fell off.

The mermaid grabbed his face and started pinching his cheeks like an elderly would do. "Great... Very young. He should be delicious."

Before Chase could scream the mermaid started singing, the song made my head hurt. My head started burning, I tried screaming in agony but thanks to that wonderful gag I couldn't.

I wasn't the only one in pain, Kat, Alex and Luna seemed to be in it also. Chase didn't seem like he was in pain though. He seemed... Different. His eyes went blank, he stopped struggling.

Then it hit me. He was turned into one of those mindless men. The mermaid gave an order to Chase, whispering it so we couldn't hear. Chase started walking towards us, I got stressed from every step he took.

Then he picked up a rock, not a big one or a small one. A medium sized one, then BOOM.

Alex eyes closed and her breathing slowed down. He hit her in the head, Kat was next. She was screaming threw her gag but it didn't help her. Then It was Luna's turn. She didn't struggled as much, she accepted her so called fate. Then my unlucky fate came. I didn't really see what happened to me, all I knew is the blow to my head knocked me out.

Just like everyone else.

But before I blacked out I got a quick glance of what I believed to be was the King of Sodapop.
