Chapter Fifty Three - Kat! You lil' Cheater!

Like the life was sucked right out of him, Sonia was on his knees. Pointing at the necklace like it was his very soul. At that moment everyone knew, like it was programmed into their brains, that they had to get it back. As soon as possible.

"A necklace? What does it have? Magic powers?" Chester chuckled, his fist tightly gripping his sword. Ready to kill at any moment.

Sonia's arm fell, his body going limp.

The psycho leader stood their for a moment, like he got distracted. Then he bursted into laughter, shoving the heart shaped necklace into his pocket. His eyes suddenly filled with blood lust.

"Exactly."

Chester's eyebrow twitched for a second, a bit confused on what he said. But, he didn't really care at the moment.

Alja's attention was on the younger enemy who didn't end up up fainted by now. Kat seemed to think the same thing, staring at him with her staff being squeezed in her hands

The younger enemy, swiftly, tried to make his way to his strong leader, but Zero was a step ahead, he ran up to him, kicking him, and held an arrow up to his neck.

The younger enemy grunted, slightly shaking from fear. Unlike all the others, shockingly.

He was scared of Blade.

Chase bit his lip, he was beyond nervous. The old man examined the group. He the smiled once again, the smile that pissed everyone off.

"Are you going to use him as a hostage?" He purred, resting his sword on his shoulder.

Lily glanced over at Sonia, who Chase was calming down. Then her attention slowly shifted towards Koji.

"No. You don't seem like the type to care about your team." Zero hissed, pressing the arrow a bit deeper into his neck. Blood was visible by this point, it was only a little, running down his neck.

"Why don't we play a game then? I'll take you all on, one at a time, and whoever hits me wins! Even if it's just a scratch!" The man chuckled. His eyes widening a bit, he was too old for this much excitement, "but if I beat all of you! I get to kill you all! No struggle, of course."

Lily eyes widen as an idea sparked into her head.

Everyone looked at each other with concerning looks, obviously he had confidence in his ability if he could say "without a scratch."

Alja spoke up first, he breathed in a big mass of air then nodded. "Okay, that's fin--"

An arrow flew by, about to hit his head and end him. But, he caught it with his bare hands. Looking over at Lily with a smile. "That's cheating!"

Lily was overwhelmed with years, never in a million years would she think he'd catch it.

"Now I see, YOU want to fight me first! That's okay! Let's go!" He ran at Lily with full speed, Sonia covering his eyes.

Lily ducked, dodging his attack. Koji then ran over to her, eyes filled with anxiety. "Lily! Are you alright?"

Lily looked up, her eyes narrowed. She nodded.

Luna held in a chuckle, her attention on someone else.

"Awww! Why are you all cheating? We agreed on a one va one! Not a one vs two! So play by the ru--"

"WATER KNIFE!" Kat screamed, raising her staff and swiftly casting the spell wth every ounce of her ability.

The old mans eyes shot up, watching as a crash of water, in the shape of a knife, hit his body. He coughed up blood as his body crashed against the floor.

"FLARE BLITZ!"

Fire, tons of it, surrounded the man. It didn't hit him, it was an attack spell, it kept his cornered.

Zero smiled.

Koji then jumped into the ring of fire, grabbing the mans sword and throwing it in an unknown direction.

"The necklace."

The man was shocked he was defeated, he couldn't move. Koji thrusted his hand into his pocket and took it himself.

Then he punched him, hard enough to knock him out. Kat undid the her spell, the fire fading away.

"I-I've never seen t-that spell! W-what... What was I-it?" Chase asked, his face showing interest.

"U-um... I kinda... Invented it."

Alja's mouth flew open "Since when did you know how to make spells?! That's like hardcore Mage shit!~" he chuckled.

"Oh! Well-"

"You little Cheater, it was suppose to be a one vs one!" Lily joked, putting an arm around Kat. Like an awkward hug.

"No... Um... Alja never agreed. You interrupted him by the arrow, therefore I did nothing wrong!"

Koji bursted into laughter.

Alja and Chester walked over to the fainted man, picking him up with all their strength. "We'll take him to jail."

As the two left Koji handed the heart shaped necklace to Sonia, making a grumpy face in the process.

"Ah!... H-heh... Mom..." He hugged it, tears slightly falling down his cheeks.

"Um guys."

Everyone looked at Zero, who still had an arrow up to the last enemy still standing.

"What about him?"

He was shaking in his boots.
